Timeform View

LUMINOUS WARRIOR has a shorter trip to contend with but is in good form and remains well treated under a penalty for last week's course success. Shades of May has a more experienced amateur taking the reins this time and is second choice ahead of Serena Brotherton's mount So Grateful.

Timeform Comments

Luminous Warrior (IRE)
In good form over 1m here in recent weeks, including a win last Tuesday. Well treated under a 5 lb penalty (won off 1 lb higher last year) assuming he's as effective over the shorter distance.
Shades Of May
Three all-weather wins between February and April. Made a good return from a break when close third of 10 at Salisbury (7f, good) 15 days ago. Should go well again.
Alafdhal (IRE)
Raced mainly on all-weather the last couple of years and little to shout about this season, finishing fifth of 6 at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago.
So Grateful
Back on form when runner-up at Beverley and Thirsk (both 5f, good to firm) last month. Has several creditable efforts when partnered by Serena Brotherton and another prominent showing seems likely.
Endowed
Won twice at Chepstow (6f) last summer but well below par in 2 comeback outings in recent months. On a good mark if staging a revival.
Indy's Angel
Returned to form when runner-up at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) and Catterick (7f, firm) in the first half of July. Had a poor track position as a possible excuse for a lesser run at Ripon last time.
Coiled (IRE)
Maiden who made no impact last year for Andrew Martin and has fared no better in 3 starts this season for current yard. A first-time blinkers and tongue tie combination needs to spark a major upturn in his fortunes.
