Timeform View

JUSTICIALISM hasn't won for a very long time, but Noel Kelly's 8-y-o has been knocking at the door of late and with this step back up in trip in his favour, he could be worth chancing back hurdling. General Clermont has been given a chance by the handicapper, so he's put forward as the biggest threat if on a going day, with Steps In The Sand and Andyourbirdcansing a couple of others worth considering.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Andyourbirdcansing traded at a high of 16.00 and Betfair SP of 7.60 when winning last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Go To Town (IRE)
Has quickly found his feet for current connections, again running creditably when fourth of 15 in handicap hurdle at this course (21f, good) last month. Solid each-way claims.
General Clermont (FR)
Hasn't won for a couple of years and consistency isn't his forte, running badly back over hurdles at Limerick 5 weeks ago. Handicapper drops him 4 lb and capable if on a going day.
Justicialism (IRE)
On long losing run but has been knocking at the door in recent months, fifth of 13 in handicap chase at Wexford (15f, good to firm) just over a fortnight ago. One to consider back hurdling.
Phoenix Arizona (IRE)
Showed much improved form making his handicap/yard debut from 4 lb out of the weights when third of 12 at this course (17f, good) last month. Tongue tie reapplied and he's shortlisted.
Andyourbirdcansing (IRE)
Took advantage of a slipping mark under a good-value claimer to snap a losing run stretching back over 2 years in 14-runner event at this course (21f, good) last month. May prove vulnerable having been raised 7 lb for that.
Il Pirata (IRE)
Lightly-raced 5-y-o who looks to have been brought along steadily. Probably needed the outing on qualifying run at Roscommon (2m) latest and could have more to offer now handicapping over slightly longer trip.
Steps In The Sand (IRE)
Arrived on the back of 2 in-frame efforts over hurdles but was a long way below her best returned to the level at Galway (1¾m, soft) last week. Bounce back needed.
Mon Sheriffe
Maiden who was rather typically too free and looked a little awkward on the bend once coming under pressure when fifth of 10 at Kilbeggan (19f, good) just under a fortnight ago. Handicapper drops him another couple.
Moulane West (IRE)
Landed a gamble over C&D last May and took a step back in the right direction when ninth of 16 at this course (2¼m, soft) a couple of months ago. First-time blinkers go on.
Georginas Jet (IRE)
Returned to form from out of the blue when winning 14-runner event at Downpatrick in June. Shaped as if still in good form at Bellewstown next time and possibly found the race coming too soon after just 6 days off at Kilbeggan last month.
Copper Rocker (IRE)
Still to offer much but it remains very early days with her yard and she'll be of more interest when the market speaks in her favour.
Boltlander (IRE)
Went the wrong way in 4 starts for Gordon Elliott and has shown nothing in a couple of starts for current connections. Hopes pinned on first-time cheekpieces/tongue tie.
Frontier Rose
Maiden who showed a bit more than previously despite not being ideally placed when sixth of 15 in handicap hurdle at this course (21f, good) last month. Needs to build on that here.
Nothing Da Now (IRE)
Little show in bumpers/maiden hurdles. Off almost 7 months ahead of this return.
Backinabit (IRE)
Winner over hurdles at Wexford last month but failed to repeat that effort when eighth of 12 there (17f, good) a fortnight ago.
Glenriver (IRE)
Made the frame on handicap debut in April 2024 for Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, but lost his way afterwards. Shaped better than distance beaten suggested on return/yard debut when eleventh of 15 at Downpatrick (2¼m, good) last month. Others preferred nonetheless.
Stormy Jenn (IRE)
Losing run is mounting up but made the frame 3 times last season. Isn't the easiest to catch right, though, tailed off in re-applied cheekpieces at Downpatrick last month. RESERVE.
Ripsnorter (FR)
Fairly useful bumper winner for A. Slattery but below that level all 3 starts over hurdles for new connections, racing freely when sixth of 15 in maiden at Ballinrobe (17f, good) recently. RESERVE.
Lady Victrix (IRE)
Has made little impact in a handful of starts over hurdles, including on handicap debut last time. RESERVE.
