Timeform View

LORD RAGNAR improved again when opening his account at Newcastle at the third attempt, before getting worn down only late on in a Lingfield nursery last time. He is taken to see off the challenge of the hat-trick seeking Emerald Bay, while High Calibre could fare best of the nursery debutants.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Lord Ragnar traded at a low of 2.12 and Betfair SP of 4.30 when losing last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Lord Ragnar (IRE)
Progressed with each of his 3 starts in maidens, overcoming interference to score at Newcastle (7f) in June. Again ran well when second of 5 in nursery at Lingfield 24 days ago and he can make another bold bid up in trip.
Emerald Bay (IRE)
Upped to 7f and fitted with cheekpieces, showed improved form when making a successful nursery debut at Beverley last month. Followed-up at Leicester 10 days later and he's respected with this extra furlong promising to suit.
High Calibre
Well below market expectations on debut but has offered more in 2 subsequent outings, sixth of 12 in maiden at Wolverhampton (7f) 23 days ago. No surprise to see a better showing upped further in distance for nursery bow.
Peggy's Lad (IRE)
Sent off at 40/1 but found another chunk of improvement upped to 7f when winning 9-runner maiden at Newcastle 6 weeks ago. Task is now to build on latest effort making nursery debut over further again.
Woodhay Wayfarer (IRE)
Has shaped better than on debut in her 2 starts since, making late headway when fifth of 8 in maiden at Epsom (7f) 28 days ago. Looks ready for 1m as she makes the switch to a nursery.
