Timeform View

SET THE TONE won over this C&D 15 days ago and is selected to defy a 6 lb rise for an in-form yard. Gerrys Wish is a consistent sort and looks sure to again give his running, whilst Charlie's Dilemma has the services of a good-value conditional and is also respected.

Timeform Comments

Mister Vic (IRE)
Decisive winner at Ballinrobe for Noel Kelly last summer. Lightly raced since and has offered very little on both starts for current connections.
Charlie's Dilemma (IRE)
Maiden hurdler who has shaped with more encouragement than for a while on his last 2 starts, finishing 7½ lengths fifth of 13 to Set The Tone over C&D last time. Excellent value conditional now takes over and has to be considered.
Clone Cross
Maiden pointer/hurdler who has been placed 3 times this season, including when 4¼ lengths second of 9 to Rusty Harkness in extended 3m maiden at Kilbeggan last time.
Matter Of Opinion (IRE)
Showed little in points and hasn't yet managed to win under Rules, looking stretched by longer trip on both occasions he's raced beyond 21f.
Gerrys Wish (IRE)
Bounced back to form when 2¼ lengths second of 13 to Set The Tone in C&D handicap last month. A repeat of that performance puts him firmly in the mix.
Tango Theatre (IRE)
Dominant Sligo winner last summer who posted her best effort since when 8 lengths fifth of 15 to Island McCoo at Kilbeggan on return. Went backwards from that performance last time, however.
Glendine Billy (IRE)
Hasn't stood much racing of late but did at least catch the eye with his move into contention at Clonmel in April. Eighth in a seriously bunched finish at Wexford last month.
Mobile Mamma (IRE)
Won novice handicap chase at Newcastle in 2024/25 for Ruth Jefferson. Lightly raced since but bounced back to form in cheekpieces/tongue on debut for new yard when 5 lengths second of 15 to Ladies Well at Killarney last month. Tongue strap now removed.
Joe's Turn (IRE)
Kilbeggan scorer last April who shaped as if better for the outing after an 11-month break when eighth of 18 at Punchestown (3m, good to soft) in May but failed to come on from that return when only mid-field at Sligo last month.
Set The Tone (IRE)
Has looked rejuvenated since undergoing a breathing operation. Confirming the promise of her previous outing when winning C&D handicap 15 days ago by 2¼ lengths from Gerrys Wish. A 6 lb rise doesn't look excessive and another bold bid anticipated.
Fervida (IRE)
Has no form in maiden hurdles and finished well held on sole completed start in handicaps.
Strong Contender (IRE)
Well beaten on completed starts in maiden hurdles and has posed no threat either start in staying handicaps.
Clever Court (IRE)
Vastly improved when gaining first success in 15-runner handicap hurdle at Bellewstown (2½m) 34 days ago but never threatened to follow up off 6 lb higher mark over C&D last time.
Cruisin Susan (IRE)
Won a division of this race in 2024/25. Has plummeted in the weights since but turned in a much more encouraging effort when 3 lengths third of 14 to Phildante in C&D handicap 15 days ago. On a good mark if able to build on that.
Fair Damsel (IRE)
Sole success came in a Killarney maiden hurdle in 2024 for previous yard. Has shaped as if back in form for the Cian Collins stable in recent months, but likely needs a career best to feature and didn't convince with her stamina for this sort of test last time. RESERVE.
Sineads Fancy (IRE)
Is far more miss than hit nowadays but has dropped to a basement mark and is capable of being involved on a going day. RESERVE.
The Cobblers Wife (IRE)
Poor maiden handicapper that has stamina to prove at this sort of trip. RESERVE.
