Timeform View

FENLANDER proved very competitive when going for the 4-timer off this mark over C&D 3 weeks ago so remains of interest. Fiscal Policy and Fifty Nifty are in better form than recent form figures suggest, so they head the dangers.

Timeform Comments

Havana Blue
Winless since summer of 2024 but arrives on the back of 2 good runner-up efforts at Ascot.
Lil Brother
Rewarded for his consistency when landing a nursery at Windsor last summer. However, ended the year out of form, including at Wolverhampton on yard debut when last seen in December. Has since been gelded/had breathing operation.
Aspull
Debut 7f novice winner at Salisbury last summer but has made little impact switched to handicaps last 3 starts. Subsequently sold from Clive Cox for £1,000.
Spring Bloom
Arrives on the back of 2 narrow wins over C&D in recent weeks but 4 lb penalty probably enough to prevent a hat-trick.
Fiscal Policy (IRE)
Suited by a sound pace when getting back to winning ways at Pontefract in June. Good placed efforts over C&D next 2 starts and last 2 efforts at York can be overlooked.
Fenlander
Keen-going sort who took 17 runs to get off the mark but on the upgrade all of a sudden having completed a hat-trick at Nottingham in June. Went close to landing a 4-timer when good ¾-length third to Spring Bloom over C&D 3 weeks ago and 6 lb better off with winner here.
Fifty Nifty (IRE)
Free-going sort who hinted at a revival off his reduced mark at Wolverhampton on yard debut last month. Denied a run at Southwell 11 days ago so worth another chance to build on previous promise.
Royal Accord
Four wins over 6f/7f for Stuart Williams last year but tailed off back from a 9-month absence for new yard at York 2 weeks ago.
The Caltonian
Bounced back to winning ways at Newcastle in January and ran creditably when fifth of 14 there in June. However, has yet to win on turf (rated much lower on this surface), taking his record to 0-22 at Ayr 18 days ago.
Akabusi
Capitalised on a drop in grade when scoring at Newmarket (Rowley Mile) off 1 lb higher in May. In and out since, running poorly at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago.
