Timeform View

A final chance is given to RECON MISSION, who drops into a 0-55 for the first time in his career and Tony Carroll's veteran should be going very close if retaining any of his old enthusiasm. Diomed Spirit ran a cracker when runner-up at Windsor in June, so he could be the one to give the selection most to do, with Dreambird Dolly seemingly best of the rest.

Timeform Comments

Recon Mission (IRE)
Hard to win with and ran poorly having dropped to a mark in the 50s for the first time when fifth of 6 over C&D (good) in June. Down further in grade here and ought to be going close if retaining any enthusiasm for the game.
Diomed Spirit
Has a much lower turf mark and took a big step back in the right direction on first outing for this yard when second of 13 at Windsor (5f, firm) just under 6 weeks ago, finding only one revitalised by a stable switch too strong. Obvious claims with a repeat.
Dreambird Dolly
Took advantage of a drop in grade when making all in classified event at Leicester (5f, good) in June. Always behind at Windsor next time, but back on song the last twice with a couple of runner-up efforts, most recently in 8-runner event at Salisbury (5f, good) last month. In the mix.
Stapleford Park
Returned to form from easing mark when runner-up at Lingfield in March but not in anything like the same form back there the following month. Well beaten all 3 turf outings last season and that tempers enthusiasm here.
Washington Heir
Found his level in this grade the last twice, winning over C&D in June and then third of 11 here (6f, good) later that month. Comes here with fewer questions to answer than most of these and holds solid place claims returned to a handicap.
Reporter
Winner at Windsor (5f, good to firm) last summer. Below par in 2 comeback outings in the spring and shaped as if needing the run on first start for new connections at Salisbury (5f, good) last month. Best watched.
Hakin Adraar
Modest maiden who wasn't disgraced in first-time blinkers when eighth of 11 in claimer at Wolverhampton (6f) last week. Hard to see him breaking his duck here.
