Timeform View

ROC DE FER has left his previous form behind upped in trip the last twice, making it back-to-back wins when defying a penalty at Wolverhampton, and he can continue his progress to score again. He is taken to confirm the placings with Much from when the pair met a week ago, with Sure And Stedfast the pick of the remainder.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Roc De Fer traded at a high of 1.44 and Betfair SP of 1.28 when winning last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Roc De Fer (IRE)
Much improved stepped up to 11f when opening account at Southwell last month. Always doing enough from the front when following up at Wolverhampton (1½m) 7 days ago, scoring by 1½ lengths from Much, and there promises to be better still to come.
Simple Star (IRE)
Winner of this race last year for Dianne Sayer but his starts are becoming an increasing concern, again losing plenty of ground when fourth of 6 here (2m) on stable debut 7 days ago. Tongue strap back on.
Sure And Stedfast (IRE)
Successful twice last season and has been shaping up well during the current campaign, finishing a close third of 5 at Hamilton last month. Enters calculations back down in grade.
Tommy's Promise
Completed a 4-timer with success over 1¼m in January. Shaped as if still in good form next 2 outings, before not convincing on his first try over 1½m when ninth of 15 at the same course in April. Off since ahead of return to turf.
Alnayef (IRE)
Hasn't looked the most enthusiastic and benefited from an uncontested lead when getting off the mark at Hamilton in June. Unable to dominate over the same C&D next time and couldn't repeat that effort when third of 5 on latest outing.
Willow Wood (IRE)
With handicap/seasonal debut behind her, proved a different proposition upped further in trip when scoring comfortably at Ffos Las (1½m) in June. Raced too keenly when last of 5 at Doncaster 20 days ago, though it remains early days for her.
Much
Never landed a blow in his qualifying runs, but having been gelded he took a step forward sent handicapping when 1½ lengths second of 7 to Roc de Fer at Wolverhampton (1½m) 7 days ago. Clear of the rest last time and he's open to further progress.
