Timeform View

TARLAC isn't the easiest of conveyances, but he sets the standard following a close second at Hamilton last time. Tickets is most likely to expose any chinks in his armour, while Hurstwood is another credible danger.

Timeform Comments

Drish Samphire (IRE)
Well beaten 2 of 3 starts since returning from a long absence, latterly in similar company at Newcastle last week.
Golden Prosperity (IRE)
Successful in this corresponding event 12 months ago. Drops back into classified company for the first time since winning at Catterick in April. He'll need to break his run of slow starts if he's to capitalise, though.
Hurstwood
Won twice over this trip last year. Better than beaten distance (5¾ lengths) when fourth (ahead of Mister Sky Blue) in a 0-60 at Ripon latest. Should go close on first start in classified company.
Mister Sky Blue (IRE)
Underlined why he's on a long losing run (didn't knuckle down) when well-backed fourth of 7 at Catterick last time. Does benefit from an ease in grade, though.
Mrs Trump (IRE)
Landed first leg of a double over C&D last summer. Turned in best effort of this season without scaling those heights when fifth of 9 at Redcar last time.
Newyorkstateofmind
Veteran who went close in a weak Catterick handicap in May. Not in same heart since, extending a long losing run at Catterick last time. Does at least drop into a classified event here.
Tarlac (IRE)
Sole success in 3-y-o handicap at Ripon last season. Nearly capitalised on much-reduced mark when going down by a short head in similar company at Hamilton latest. The form pick but unlikely to be a straightforward ride for his 3-lb apprentice.
Thank The Lord
Badly out of sorts in the spring. Hopes of a revival pinned on 3-month break/drop into classified company.
Tickets
Back in classified event for first time since winning at Newcastle (6f) in February. Positive enough stable debut when 2½ lengths second in first-time tongue strap there last time. Has won on turf (off 2 lb higher) and makes appeal under good-value apprentice.
