CORKBEG is back down to a good mark on the pick of last season's efforts and, with a recent outing likely to have sharpened him up, he's fancied to snap a long losing run. Syosset was unlucky to bump into a handicap blot at Cork 5 days ago and seems sure to be on the premises once more, while Surviving Murmansk completes the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Liceo (FR)
Stepped up on reappearance when third of 15 in 2m handicap at Tramore in May. Shaped as though still in good form when fifth at Downpatrick the following month and probably shouldn't be judged too hardly on his latest effort in maiden company at that venue. Drop back to 2m not sure to suit, though.
Blue Reed (FR)
Finally off the mark in 14-runner handicap hurdle here(19f) in May. Backed it up with a good second in 7-runner handicap chase at Cartmel (17f, good to soft) but was below form back over the smaller obstacles at Killarney recently. Bounce back called for.
Syosset (IRE)
Is progressing gradually, unlucky to bump into a handicap blot in 16-runner event at Cork (17f, good to soft, 7/1) 5 days ago. Excellent conditional now takes over in the saddle and expected to be on the premises again.
Valsorpresa
Fourteen runs since last win in 2024 and went backwards from an encouraging reappearance when sixth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (17f, good) 18 days ago. Bit to prove.
Walk Win (FR)
Returned to form whilst again hinting he may not be straightforward when fourth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (2m, good) 33 days ago, carrying head bit awkwardly.
Folk Warrior (IRE)
Steady progress in a trio of juvenile maiden hurdles last season and hasn't been disgraced since sent handicapping at a low level on the Flat this summer. May improve again now entering handicaps over hurdles.
Convincing (IRE)
Well held in a trio of maiden hurdles but opening mark favourable on the pick of his Flat form and should prove capable of better.
Zaryagle (IRE)
Showed just poor form in maiden hurdles last year and made no impact in a couple of handicaps afterwards. Improvement needed on return from 9-month absence. Engaged 17.48 Kilbeggan Friday.
Corkbeg (IRE)
On a long losing run but down to a good mark and entitled to come on his first outing in 9 months at Killarney recently. Player.
Ferdia (IRE)
Seventeen runs since last win in 2022 and finished only seventh of 15 in handicap chase at Killarney (23f, good) on most recent outing. Others more persuasive on this return to hurdling.
Bravemans Bounce (IRE)
Well held all 3 starts to date and looks to have been done no favours by the handicapper.
Kinski (FR)
Well held in bumper/maiden hurdles for Patrick G. Kelly in 2024 and ran out sole start in points earlier this year. Hard to fancy.
Ardgillan (IRE)
Well beaten in bumpers and has fared no better in a trio of maiden hurdles. First handicap start after 8 months off.
Surviving Murmansk (IRE)
Has an ordinary strike rate but bounced back to form ridden more positively than usual when second of 16 in handicap at Cork (17f, good to soft) 5 days ago, albeit having run of race. Possibilities if backing that up.
