BARAK WARRIOR showed much improved form when making a successful handicap debut at Bath last time, pulling clear with one who has landed a hat-trick since, and he can continue his progress to follow up. Mountbatten had excuses on his latest outing and is worth another chance, with Al Maslool also in the mix.

Timeform Comments

Robusto (IRE)
Rated higher on all-weather and bounced back to winning ways at Wolverhampton (1¾m) in April. Left behind a lesser effort when a close third at Chester (12.3f) last time, though task is now to back up his latest run.
Ottoman (IRE)
Both wins at this track, scoring comfortably over C&D last month. Found things tougher back up 7 lb in the weights when 7¼ lengths fifth of 10 to Al Maslool at Chester (12.3f) 15 days ago, though wasn't helped by a wide trip.
Mountbatten (GER)
Improved as expected for a much longer trip when making a successful handicap/seasonal debut at Southwell (1½m) in June, scoring easily. Possibly found the run coming too soon at Yarmouth (1¾m) 8 days later, so he remains capable of better with cheekpieces added.
Barak Warrior (IRE)
Little impact in his qualifying runs, but sent handicapping over further (had been gelded) he proved a different proposition when landing 7-runner event at Bath (11.6f) last month, form boosted since. Major player with more still to offer.
Al Maslool
Upped in trip, didn't need to improve when getting off the mark in 10-runner handicap at Chester (12.3f) 15 days ago, hanging left but still doing well to win after meeting trouble. Enters calculations now that he's up and running.
Sahm Naif (IRE)
Progressed with each of his first 3 starts in handicaps, winning at Beverley (1¼m) in June and following up in first-time cheekpieces at Redcar. Disappointed at Nottingham last time, but that came after just 2 days off. Switches to blinkers up in distance.
