Having finished runner-up off his much-reduced mark here last time, SUNDIATA KEITA may go one better in first-time blinkers. Macanudo, Macarone and Arnaz have also fallen a long way in the weights and need considering in a very tricky sprint.

Timeform Comments

Be An Angel
Winner in similar company at Salisbury last month. Wasn't far off completing the double over C&D before a forgivable run at Lingfield latest. One to consider back down in grade.
Macanudo (IRE)
Recorded sole win in early-2024. Stepped up markedly on comeback when 2 lengths third (weakening when snatched up) off much-reduced mark at Nottingham last time. Looks interesting with sights lowered considerably.
Arnaz
Free-going sort. Winless since his breakthrough success in May 2024. Quiet spell has seen him tumble down the weights. Drop in trip/grade can only help, though, and could do better if settling from a useful-looking draw.
Marisitta
Belatedly opened account in a similar C&D event in late-June. Wasn't in same form in classified race at Leicester since. Benefits from stands-side draw but may be vulnerable off this mark.
Sundiata Keita (IRE)
Went close in similar company for Joe Ponting last season. Stepped up on stable debut/reappearance when length second in a better race over C&D latest. May well get off the mark with first-time blinkers added.
Some Nightmare (IRE)
Veteran hit form this time last year when runner-up in this corresponding event before going one better over C&D. Hasn't won since but finished close third in better race here penultimate start. Not discounted if bouncing back from lesser effort at Bath (cheekpieces replace blinkers).
Outer Edge
Yard's sprinters going well, however, this previous C&D winner hasn't fired in 3 starts this season. Stall 1 unlikely to be a help, either.
Macarone
Inconsistent since winning twice on all-weather for Ivan Furtado last autumn. Ran easily his best race for current yard when close second to a thriving sort at Ffos Las in late-July. Dangerous if in similar form.
