Timeform View

TREFOR goes well round here and can bounce back off a handy-looking mark to go one better than when runner-up in this event 12 months ago. C&D scorer Badri (third last year) is thriving this season and rates a major threat in his bid for a four-timer, though. Recent C&D 1-2 Another Abbot and Sudden Flight can also play a prominent role in this very competitive sprint.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Badri traded at more than 10 times Betfair SP and 5 times Betfair SP when winning on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Badri
Veteran who arrives in rude health having completed a hat-trick in 7-runner handicap at Pontefract (5f, good) 24 days ago, getting up late. Up 3 lb but this C&D winner (also third in this last year) is a player back up in trip with Oisin Murphy in the saddle.
King Of Light
Doubled his tally for current yard with clear-cut success over C&D in June. Respectable eighth of 27 in Stewards' Cup at Goodwood (6f, good to firm) 9 days ago. Not out of things.
Trefor (IRE)
A 3-time winner in 2025, including a big-field handicap at York in August. Shaped well when fourth over C&D in May (snatched up over 1f out) but well held since in a pair of 5f/6f handicaps at Ascot. Runner-up in this 12 months ago and remains one to be interested in from 3 lb lower.
Indian Run (IRE)
Ended a long losing run at Thirsk (6f) in July and backed it up with a creditable third of 13 in handicap at Ascot (5f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Back up in trip and needs considering.
Another Abbot (IRE)
Bounced back to form to gain a second success of 2026 in 13-runner handicap over C&D (firm) two weeks ago, beating Sudden Flight by ¾ length. Not taken lightly despite a 4 lb rise.
Desert Cop
Overcame another slow start to end a long losing run over C&D in June. Well below par at Epsom (6f) and Goodwood (5f) since, though. Others more persuasive.
Sudden Flight
Successful twice (5f/6f) on all-weather in 2025. Yet to score this term but runner-up for the fourth consecutive start when beaten ¾-length by Another Abbot over C&D (firm) 14 days ago. Must enter calculations nudged up 1 lb.
Rosario (IRE)
Winless in his last fourteen starts but comes here in good nick, nearest finish when fourth of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (5f, good to firm) last month. Needs things to drop right but can't be discounted off a slipping mark.
Cindy Lou Who
Thrived for current yard last season, notching her fourth success at Bath in September. Ran a cracker on return when short-head second of 14 in 5f listed event there but has failed to back up that improvement in 4 handicaps since. Others look stronger.
Uncle Don
On a long losing run and not proving the easiest to catch right for his current yard, runner-up over C&D in May but just tenth of 12 to Diligently back over C&D (good to firm) following month. Freshened up since.
Diligently
Bounced back to gain a second C&D success in 12-runner handicap in June. Beat only one in handicap at Ascot (6f, firm) 31 days ago. Booking of Billy Loughnane is a plus, though.
Justcallmepete
Gained a second win of 2026 over C&D in May. Off 7 weeks and below-par fourth of 6 at Sandown on his first try at 5f 12 days ago. This return to 6f should suit.
Dream Composer (FR)
Already a dual scorer for current yard this season, showing a good attitude over 5f for latter win in June. Fading fifth of 7 in handicap at Epsom (6f, good to firm) last time. Has won over 6f but best recent form over the minimum trip.
Purest Time
Gained a first success for this yard over C&D in May. Not seen to best effect when well held in 6f handicaps at Chester and Ascot since. No forlorn hope.
Star Chorus (IRE)
Won twice at Southwell (5f/6f) this winter. Back in good form of late, set too much to do when 2¼ lengths sixth of 13 to Another Abbot over C&D (firm) two weeks ago. One to consider off easing mark.
Baldomero (IRE)
Ended 2025 on a high (won 3 times on all-weather) and arrives in good form, third over C&D before sixth of 21 in handicap at York (6f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Possibilities.
