Relished testing conditions when off the mark at Salisbury (1¼m) last September. Bettered even that form when second of 18 at York (1¼m, good) in June but needs to shrug off a lesser run at Southwell since.
Spirit Of Acklam
C&D winner last spring and got his head back in front when shading a close finish over 13f at Hamilton (good to firm) last month. Only 1 lb higher. The cheekpieces he wore when winning here are refitted.
Star Cast
Gained sixth win of a very productive 2026 over C&D (soft) under Jake Dickson in June. Off since but still looks well treated.
Regalian
Made a sound reappearance for new yard when sixth of 11 over 1m at Redcar in June but has failed to build on it in 2 subsequent all-weather outings. Steps back up in trip with a point to prove.
Obito (IRE)
Won twice last summer, including over C&D. Runner-up at Hamilton (9f, good) in June. Ran creditably up against some progressive 3-y-os when fifth of 8 at Doncaster (1¼m, firm) 32 days ago. Each-way claims.
Mano Chicago (IRE)
Fairly useful maiden in Ireland for Johnny Murtagh. New connections acquired him for 48,000 gns last month. The betting should provide more clues as to what's expected from him on stable debut.
Break The Bank
All-weather winner in spring of 2024 for Andrew Balding. Back from a 22-month absence in good form, including runner-up over C&D. Ought to be competitive again. NON RUNNER.
Pearl Eye
Has made a great start for this yard, scoring at Hamilton (from Obito) in June and again over C&D last month. Latest C&D fourth of 5 no more than respectable, though.
Simply Ruby
Soft-ground winner for Ed Walker last year but offered little on 13f course reappearance for new yard 4 weeks ago. First-time cheekpieces need to spark a big upturn in her fortunes.
Cisco Disco (IRE)
Ended last season in great form, winning 4 times here on good or softer (including 3 over this trip). Operating below his best so far this season but his mark is starting to ease.
Lorca's Waltz
In top hands and, switched to turf after 5 months off (gelded), showed much improved form in first-time tongue strap when winning a Beverley maiden (7.5f) in June. Not seen to best effect when fourth of 5 on 1m Sandown handicap debut since and retains unexposed potential now going up in trip.
Molinari (IRE)
Ended 2024 with back-to-back wins. Hit the frame several times last year but his 2 comeback runs this summer have been short of his best.
Boy Named Sioux (IRE)
Won Southwell (7f) novice in good style last year but hasn't gone on since. Steps up significantly in trip with something to prove.
Ziata
Drew a blank in 5 outings for Ed Walker but struck at the first time of asking for Gemma Tutty in 1¼m Windsor maiden in May, albeit she didn't need to improve. Stablemate of Star Cast.
