Timeform View

COTAI STARLIGHT is the least exposed in the field and rates an appealing candidate dropping to 5f for the first time given she's not short of pace. She can resume winning ways, at the expense of Hurt You Never, a 3-time C&D winner who ran well in first-time blinkers (retained here) when runner-up off this mark at Nottingham last week. Tanjen drops in grade and shouldn't be taken lightly, either.

Timeform Comments

Tanjen (IRE)
A dual 5f scorer in 2025. Has yet to fully fire this season but took a step back in the right direction at Chester latest and this represents a drop in grade.
Hurt You Never (IRE)
3-time C&D winner who ran well in first-time blinkers when second of 5 in handicap (7/2) at Nottingham (5f, firm) 8 days ago. Has to be taken seriously off the same mark.
Cotai Starlight (IRE)
Much improved when opening her account at Ayr (6f) in July. Ran at least as well in defeat under a 6-lb penalty there just over a fortnight ago and interesting now dropping to the minimum trip for the first time.
Hvar
Progressive form for Ralph Beckett last autumn, culminating with all-weather novice success, but well held in 5 turf handicaps for new yard. Has had a breathing operation since latest outing.
Never Dark
On a long losing run but lurking on a dangerous mark and interesting if backed.
Ukiyo (IRE)
Ran respectably when fourth of 13 in 6f handicap at Ayr (good) 3 days ago, though isn't sure to be in the same form given her recent inconsistency.
South Shore Island (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who went as close as he has to breaking his duck in 9-runner handicap (11/1) at Redcar (6f, good) 13 days ago. Thereabouts with a repeat.
Summerstorms Dream (IRE)
Posted a creditable second in 6f handicap at Ayr in July and wasn't disgraced back at 5f there next time but needs to shrug off a lesser effort 3 days ago. Cheekpieces back on.
