Timeform View

SECOND FIDDLE figures off a handy mark and has bounced back to form in recent starts. She could therefore be the answer here, while Sanafi Zabeel and Epidavros may provide the chief threat.

Timeform Comments

Quiet Resolve (IRE)
Made a winning return for current yard over C&D in May and largely run with credit in defeat since. Needs to bounce back from a disappointing Chester effort, though.
Pink Azalea (IRE)
Three-time winner last term but form tailed off dramatically on final 2 starts and she's offered little in a trio of outings this season.
Real Trouper (IRE)
Showed promise when third of 5 in a 1m novice at York in spring of 2025 but well held both starts this year and has plenty to prove on handicap debut here.
Toralou (IRE)
Opened her account in a 1m Musselburgh maiden this time last year but proved inconsistent since, following up a solid run at Ffos Las with below-par Doncaster effort. Others are more convincing.
Epidavros (IRE)
Course scorer in September 2024. Winless since but she's largely been running well, making the frame in her first 4 starts this term. Below best here latest but looks the type to bounce back.
Sanafi Zabeel (FR)
C&D winner in May and remained in good form since, latest when creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at Ayr (7f, good) 3 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Likely contender.
Second Fiddle (IRE)
Got off the mark over C&D last autumn before progressing to win 5 of her next 6. Fallen down weights following slow start to the year and has returned to form in recent outings, including making the frame here the last twice. Shortlist material.
Sogniamo
Caused a shock 80/1 win on stable debut in May after leaving Marcus Tregoning but hasn't been in same form in either outing since. Remains low mileage, though.
Turtle Reef
Lightly-raced maiden who shaped well when third of 7 on handicap debut/reappearance at Doncaster (1¼m, firm) in June. Nowhere near that level at Newbury since, though, and others appeal more on the back of a gelding operation.
Vitality (IRE)
Best effort when second at Epsom in April which is proving quite strong form, but she's been much too free since and failed to beat a rival home at Beverley last month. No surprise to see a hood reached for.
