Timeform View

NARRJOO shaped well when runner-up in a Doncaster novice on debut, beaten only by a useful-looking prospect, and he can build on that effort to go one better. Drum Bay also made a positive start when second at Lingfield last month and is feared most, ahead of Isabella de Vega.

Timeform Comments

Drum Bay
Whose yard knows this family well, shaped encouragingly amidst inexperience when second of 10 in novice at Lingfield in July, keeping on well behind one who scored again next time. In good hands to progress.

Foaled February 29. 200,000 gns 2-y-o, Mehmas colt. Half-brother to useful 9.5f-1½m winner Crack of Light and 2-y-o 8.3f winner Cet Horizon. Dam, winner around 1½m, sister to 1¼m-1¾m winner First In Line and 1¼m-1½m winner Frankly Darling (both smart). Holds Group 2 entry so he's one to note.
Grand Havana
Foaled February 28. Havana Grey colt. Dam, 2-y-o 5f winner who stayed 7f, sister to useful 2-y-o 6f winner (stayed 8.5f) Squash. Has a fairly useful standard to aim at on debut.
Narrjoo (IRE)
Well-bred type who produced a promising first effort when second in 9-runner novice at Doncaster 20 days ago. Leading contender with improvement to come.
Q T Boy
Hasn't offered much promise in 2 starts so far, again failing to beat a rival in 7-runner novice at Windsor (6f) 16 days ago. Looks one for the further down the line.
World Star (IRE)
Foaled April 30. €24,000 foal, €40,000 yearling, 135,000 gns 2-y-o. Starman colt. Half-brother to several winners, including 5f-6f winner Atacama and winner up to 6f Likedbymike (2-y-o 5f winner), both useful. Dam runner-up at 6f. May just be better for this first experience.
Isabella De Vega (IRE)
Bred to be at least useful and was given a considerate introduction when third of 6 in 7f novice at Thirsk 19 days ago. Could be in the mix with that first outing behind her.
