Timeform View

ZALTALLA has shown promise since joining this yard, looking unlucky when meeting trouble last time, and if handling the drop to 6f, he could prove the answer. Pure Passion is unexposed and looks sure to be a threat, while Real Gold has reasons that could see her bounce back to form, chiefly the return to this surface.

Timeform Comments

Pure Passion
Won a classified stakes at Yarmouth over 5f 8 days ago. Did so under a hands-and-heels ride and looked to have more to offer. Steps up to 6f for the first time and is lightly raced so looks one to take seriously.
Dr Ali (IRE)
Won in this grade at Wolverhampton in the spring and bounced back to form when second of 10 over C&D in similar company 5 days ago. Claims if this doesn't come too soon.
Global Effort (IRE)
Has persistent settling issues and pulled far too hard when eighth of 8 in classified stakes over 5f at Wolverhampton in March. Back up in trip with cheekpieces back on but is easy to oppose.
Porfin (IRE)
Three-time C&D winner but went through the motions when fifth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton 46 days ago. Drop back in grade may help.
Roman Spring (IRE)
Won here over 5f in November but largely struggled since. Had an excuse when dropped to this grade last time, though.
Zaltalla (FR)
Better signs since joining this stable and shaped better than the bare result when denied a run over 2f out when third over 7f at this track last time. Can build on that form and is up to going very close if coping with the drop back in trip.
My Mate Mackley
Looked suited by the return to this trip when second of 8 at Chepstow 4 days ago. Quick turnaround back on all-weather but now drops into classified company for the first time.
Real Gold
Had placed 3 times on all-weather earlier this year but came last on turf last 2 outings. The return to this surface/first-time cheekpieces and drop in grade could spark a revival.
Ridger (IRE)
Hard to fancy on 3 outings to date but now drops in grade and trip with hood removed.
