Successful over C&D on his first outing in July, SIR GARFIELD fared second-best of those with a single figure stall at Goodwood last time, so he's well worth another chance back here. He gets the vote ahead of Modern Times, who arrives on the back of a winning stable debut, with Ruby's Profit one to note for her new yard.

Timeform Comments

Ruby's Profit (IRE)
Won twice over 5f last spring before good third in the 3YO Dash here on Derby Day. Hasn't been at her best so far this season, but she's down to a handy mark as she makes first run since leaving Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole. Interesting contender.
Sir Garfield (IRE)
Better than ever when winning at Catterick and over this C&D (edged out the subsequent winner of Ascot's International Handicap) on first 2 starts this season. Hasn't been seen to best effect the last twice, poorly drawn at Goodwood, so no surprise to see him bounce back.
Angel Gabriel (IRE)
Landed the odds in 6f novice at Lingfield in December and produced his best effort in handicaps when third of 8 at Kempton 9 days ago, despite not fully convincing upped to 7f. Could build on that returned to shorter.
Kolkata Knight (IRE)
Dual juvenile winner who pushed a next-time-out scorer close at Wolverhampton (5f) on return. After a couple of lesser efforts, made the frame at Newmarket in July but was down the field at Goodwood 15 days ago. Needs to get back on the up returned to 6f.
On Edge
Made a winning return over 5f at Chepstow in May and typically gave his running when third of 7 at Ffos Las (6f) the following month. Consistent type but has a career-high mark to overcome.
Stellar Vision
Landed 7f Wolverhampton novice in January and close third on handicap debut at Newmarket in April. However, held back by racing too freely when failing to beat a rival on his last 2 starts. Drops back in trip here having been gelded, with tongue strap now added.
Modern Times
Fitted with cheekpieces making first run since leaving Tim Easterby, was nicely on top at the line when doubling his tally in 12-runner handicap at Southwell 18 days ago. Respected with more still to offer for his new yard.
Sandscreendeliverd
Gained breakthrough success on the turf at Lingfield (5f) last summer. Runner-up twice earlier this year and, after a couple of lesser efforts, has returned to form the last twice, creditable third of 7 at Lingfield (good to firm) 20 days ago. Back up in trip.
