Hopefully there's enough pace on for GREAT BEDWYN, who is lurking on a dangerous mark and may capitalise. Masterinthewoods and Tryfan also make plenty of appeal, while Pinatique will be interesting if supported on U.K. debut.

Timeform Comments

Pinatique (FR)
Started career 2-2 in France before useful sixth in a 1½m listed event last Autumn. Possibly amiss on final start for Jean-Claude Rouget in November. Off 9 months but sneaks into class 4 company on handicap/stable debut. Worth considering if supported.
Explode (FR)
Useful gelding. Knuckled down to capitalise on a drop in grade/double his tally at Catterick last time. That form has taken a couple of knocks, and a 4-lb rise may scupper his bid for a double.
Tryfan
Smooth-travelling type. Addition of cheekpieces saw him back to something like his best when notching a fourth career win at Ascot last month. That was far from the strongest Class 2 handicap, however, he's a player if headgear has similar effect back down in grade.
Great Bedwyn
Well-treated C&D winner (3 lb below latest winning mark). Ran a cracker when second at the Dante meeting in May. Shaped as if back in form when 4¼ lengths third on return to York (1¼m) last time. Return to longer trip will suit and could snap his losing run if things fall right here.
Masterinthewoods (IRE)
Likeable sort who overcame a muddling pace to double his tally at Salisbury in May. Advanced his form with fine runner-up finishes at Goodwood/Ascot since, only denied by a stable debutant latterly (fourth also won since). Dangerous if he settles in a race lacking obvious pace.
Nicator (FR)
Quirky, low-mileage 4-y-o. Looked steadily progressive when going close at Yarmouth in June. This is a better race, however, and he did plenty wrong under a more patient ride at York subsequently.
