Timeform View

Not only is A BOY NAMED SUSIE's runner-up effort in the Eclipse a different level to these but he also receives weight from the 4-y-os, so he really should make no mistake down in grade. A literal reading of Omni Man's effort in the Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown suggests he's the prudent forecast option.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

A Boy Named Susie traded at a low of 6.40 and Betfair SP of 31.96 when losing last time, a race in which it raced towards the rear and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Cowardofthecounty (IRE)
Established as a useful performer and shaped as though still in form when 5 lengths fifth of 8 to Isaac Newton in Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown (1m, good to firm) 10 days ago, not ideally placed. Up in trip, which isn't certain to suit.
Omni Man (IRE)
Won twice on turf last season, including handicap at Glorious Goodwood. Back to form when fifth of 17 in Duke of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot and on the face of it ran a cracker when 2½ lengths fourth of 7 to Ethical Diamond in Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown (1½m).
A Boy Named Susie (IRE)
Signed off his 2-y-o campaign with second in a French Group 1 and bettered even that form when 2½ lengths fourth of 16 to Constitution River (Hawk Mountain second) in Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly. Runner-up effort in the Eclipse head and shoulders above these.
Charles Fort
Took form to a new level when landing 10-runner 6f maiden at Cork in September. Raced closer to the pace than ideal when brushed aside in listed company 12 days later. Off since and leading stable up him markedly in trip.
Rebel Ascendant
Made a winning start in 8-runner maiden at Gowran on his debut in April. Similar form in a minor race over 10.5f a month later and this looks a tough ask with cheekpieces fitted.
