MASSIMO BLUE shaped better than his recent Wolverhampton third suggests, having been caught wide and further back than ideal, and looks worth siding with in a tight affair starting out for a new yard. Toptime has 3 course wins and has returned in good form this year, so must be respected, while Torfrida is well treated on the pick of her efforts and should be suited by this return to 6f.

Massimo Blue
Won twice last year, including over C&D. Has shaped well on last 2 starts, caught wider than ideal when 2 lengths third of 11 to Landlordtothestars at Wolverhampton on latest. Has since joined a yard that has done well with similar sorts and is very much one to consider.
Tough Enough
Runner-up at this C&D in April but has struggled and merely extended his lengthy losing run since. This represents a notable drop in grade, though, so no surprise if he were to suddenly return to form.
Lesley's Boy
Not won since his 2-y-o days and hasn't fired in 3 starts this season, turning in a particularly laboured performance at Carlisle on latest. Cheekpieces back on in replace of a visor.
Toptime
Enthusiastic type who shaped well on his return in June before readily making all in 6-runner handicap at Nottingham (5f) 6 days later. Confirmed himself still in good form when neck third of 10 to Opal Storm at Beverley last time. Has won here 3 times and has to be respected.
Southern Warrior (IRE)
Successful on handicap debut at Newcastle (6f) in March for George Scott but has shown little on turf for current connections. Returns to all-weather but difficult to make a case for him.
Orange Emperor (IRE)
Fair maiden who has been runner-up twice in handicaps this year, most recently at Salisbury in June. Below that level both outings since, proving too free at 7f last time, and hood goes back on reverting to sprinting/all-weather.
Federal Envoy (IRE)
All 3 wins over 7f at this course. Runner-up at Ripon in June and not seen to best effect when below that level on both outings since, caught wide and further back than ideal when 4¾ lengths fifth of 10 to Elvetham at Lingfield last time. Capable of being involved if getting things run to suit.
On Key
Consistent and tough individual who gained a deserved first success when winning 7f handicap at Wolverhampton last month. Placed on both outings since, ½-length second of 10 to Manton Road at same track on latest. Should give his running again.
Ahead Of Fashion
Had the run of the race when second of 4 back in handicap company at Wolverhampton (7f) in May. Hasn't built on that effort in 2 starts since but dropping in the weights all the time.
Blackjack
Multiple all-weather winner who turned in one of this season's better races when length third of 10 to On Key in 7f handicap at Wolverhampton last time. This looks more competitive, though.
Torfrida
Has been given a chance by the handicapper and wasn't disgraced when 3½ lengths fourth of 8 to J Street at Southwell last time. The late headway she made that day suggests this return to 6f will suit.
Big Apple Jack
Runner-up twice this year, including at Pontefract (6f) in June. Below form tried over 7f at Doncaster last time though and must prove his effectiveness on this surface.
Great Success
Fair 3-y-o maiden who ran poorly on final outing for Richard and Peter Fahey in July. Subsequently sold for 3,500 gns and improvement needed for new connections.
Starsong (IRE)
Runner-up over C&D on return in March and bounced back to form when filling the same position at Pontefract 3 weeks ago. On a good mark if building on that returned to this venue.
