Timeform View

PAPA DON'T PREACH has been in good form since returning from a break, narrowly denied at Yarmouth 15 days ago, and he could be ready to take advantage of his current mark. Edmond Halley ran well on his second start for the in-form Ed Bethell and is feared most, while Jm Jhingree is also capable of getting involved.

Timeform Comments

Jm Jhingree (IRE)
Bounced back to winning ways fitted with cheekpieces at Hamilton (5f) in June. Form has been in and out since, switched to blinkers when last of 11 at Hamilton 16 days ago, but he drops in grade here. One to note with the cheekpieces reapplied.
Daytona Lady (IRE)
Ended a long losing run at Wolverhampton in April. However, her form has dipped of late, reverting to her slow-starting ways when seventh of 10 at Southwell 11 days ago.
Good Karma
Back in cheekpieces when winning at Wolverhampton (7f) in June and has continued in good heart with 2 placed efforts since, third of 8 at this course (7f) last time despite failing to keep straight under pressure.
Miss Rainbow (IRE)
Off the mark for the year at Thirsk (5f) in June. Placed on first 2 starts last month, including over C&D, and soon left behind a lesser effort when scoring over C&D 13 days ago. Has widest draw to overcome but can give another good account.
Quercus (IRE)
Boasts a fine record at this track, winning twice last summer to make it 7 C&D victories. Has yet to fire in 3 starts this season, though, fifth of 8 here last month which proved to be his only run for Noel Wilson. Back down in grade having rejoined former yard.
One Of Our Own
Benefited from the drop back to 6f when successful at Redcar in May. Close third over the same C&D the following month, before possibly needing the run after 7 weeks off when well held at Pontefract a month ago. 3-time C&D winner so not ruled out.
Barmyblade (IRE)
Has benefited from the cheekpieces going back on this summer, making it 2 wins from 3 starts when making all over this C&D last month. Shaped as if still in good form when 5¼ lengths fourth of 8 to Miss Rainbow here 13 days ago, having worst of the draw.
Edmond Halley (IRE)
Fair form in Ireland for Kieran Patrick Cotter and stepped forward from his stable debut effort when third of 13 in handicap at Ayr 7 days ago. Interesting contender arriving with his new yard in excellent form.
Papa Don't Preach (IRE)
Has run well with hood refitted both starts since returning from 10 weeks off, edged out only late on when second of 7 at Yarmouth (5f) 15 days ago. Remains 2 lb below his last winning mark and has the inside stall to work from. Major player.
