Timeform View

A competitive nursery that could go the way of SYDNEY GRACE, who created a good impression when winning at Carlisle in June. Wondervision also looks interesting on her nursery bow, with Green Titan and Nascent Star others to consider.

Timeform Comments

Margaret's Pearl
Highly tried since bagging 8-runner novice at Pontefract (5f) second time up. Opening mark has suffered as a result of her 4¼ lengths fifth of 8 in a weak Newmarket listed race on penultimate start (well beaten latest). Stall 10 isn't ideal, either.
Menhaal (IRE)
Strong 260,000 gns Minzaal colt with a quality pedigree. Clearly ran below expectation first 2 starts and was gelded/off 9 weeks prior to finishing 7½ lengths fourth of 9 on qualifying run at Sandown. Could do better now tackling a nursery in first-time cheekpieces.
Sydney Grace (IRE)
Looked potentially useful when recording a notably strong-travelling success at Carlisle (5f, soft) in early-June. She was value for a good bit more than the neck winning margin (third has won since) and is completely unexposed up in trip on nursery/all-weather debut.
Wondervision (IRE)
Best backed of the newcomers when promising third at Ascot (5f) on debut. Too free to justify support in 6f Goodwood maiden in late-May. She has the scope to do better off a potentially lenient opening mark here.
Green Titan
Standout effort when chasing home a now-useful one at Salisbury (6f, heavy) second time up. Has been given time/a gelding operation following his subsequent run on contrasting ground at Leicester. May well do better back up in trip on nursery/all-weather bow, with a handy draw to boot.
Horndean (FR)
Cost €120,000 as a yearling. Showed plenty to work on when third to a couple of next-time-out winners on Windsor debut. Seemed to find 5f/firmer ground against him at Yarmouth last time. Another who could benefit from switch to all-weather/nurseries, with tongue strap added for his return to 6f.
Royal Titan (USA)
$22,000 yearling. £62,000 2-y-o. Showed ability/tendency race to freely at long odds in 7f maidens. Switch to sprinting should benefit, and he isn't taken lightly for yard who were successful with a similar nursery debutant at Lingfield on Thursday.
Nascent Star
Hit the frame in 5f novices at Nottingham/Windsor prior to facing a stiff task in the Weatherbys Super Sprint. Shaped better when close second on nursery debut at Kempton (6f) latest. A 2-lb rise forces him into a slightly better race, but he's still far from exposed.
Lola
Ran to a similar level as on debut/still looked in need of the experience when beaten 6¼ lengths over 5f here last time. Switch to a longer trip/nursery offers some hope for improvement, though the draw could have been kinder.
Sable Island
Hasn't kicked on from her debut third at Southwell (sole all-weather start to date). Well held in pair of 5f nurseries last month and is at least worth another go over this sort of trip.
