Timeform View

MY OLD MATE landed the odds with a fair amount up his sleeve at Windsor a week ago and assuming he's as effective on the all-weather, the hat-trick beckons. Perfect Ruler has left a leading stable but joined another very capable one and she may offer most resistance.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

My Old Mate traded at a high of 1.71 and Betfair SP of 1.56 when winning last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

My Old Mate (IRE)
Steadily progressive son of Wootton Bassett who gained compensation for a near miss over 1m at Windsor in June with a pair of victories over that C&D in recent weeks. Penalty to carry but he landed the odds readily 8 days ago and he'll take some stopping.
Venturing (IRE)
Little in the way of promise after 5 starts.
Perfect Ruler
Showed more than on debut when fourth in a Doncaster maiden in November. Below market expectations on return when last of 5 at Thirsk (7f) in May but shaped with a more promise when fifth at Redcar (denied a clear run). Could be more to come at 1m now switched to the all-weather for new yard.
Grey Sands (IRE)
Acquired for 28,000 gns on the back of handicap debut success at Southwell (1m) for Joseph O'Brien in January. Posted a fair second next time and having appeared to want for stamina when last of 7 over 11.5f, he was left with a lot to do back over 1m last time.
Ten Cuidado (IRE)
Only one worthwhile effort to his name, failing to see out 1m on return from 6 months off 41 days ago.
Henfield
Much more like it fitted with cheekpieces over this C&D last month, opening her account in classified company despite hanging badly left. More to do back in a handicap but she's clearly in good order.
Ernie Mccrew (IRE)
Struggling to make a telling impact in handicaps.
