OBSIDIAN VERSE didn't enjoy the rub of the green when sixth at Wolverhampton last time so is fancied to capitalise on a lenient-looking mark and double his tally. Santiago Boy is feared most on the back of an improved second behind a thriving winner here last week, while Piazza and Slack Bob can't be discounted either in an open handicap.

Timeform Comments

Slack Bob
Breakthrough win in all-weather handicap at Lingfield (7f) in May. Has remained in form, sixth of 11 in handicap at Ayr (7f, good to firm) last month. Not out of things down into a 0-70.
Santiago Boy
Lightly-raced maiden. Took a step forward in first-time blinkers with second of 14 in handicap here (1m) 9 days ago, chasing home thriving winner. Well in the mix off the same mark with headgear retained.
G'emmethegreenlite (IRE)
In the frame in novice company for Adrian Keatley last season but ran poorly with a hood added on first outing for 9 months for new connections at Haydock (handicap debut, 6f, good to firm) back in April. Tongue strap back on in place of the hood now.
Unionville
Dead-heated for new stable in 6f Chelmsford maiden in February. Not so good since, although stopped the slide a bit when third of 6 in handicap at Sandown (7f, good) 26 days ago. Needs to back it up now.
Obsidian Verse
Got off the mark in 6f handicap at Southwell in April. Excuses when sixth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6f) 33 days ago, carried left final 1f and denied a run. Weighted to go close eased 1 lb.
Eduardo Calderon (IRE)
Very good Leicester second on his reappearance but below par both runs since, fourth of 7 in handicap back there (7f, good to firm) last month. Needs to bounce back on return to all-weather.
Generous Rascal
Winner of 6f Kempton novice last autumn for Oliver Cole. Largely in good form for current yard in 2026, not seen to ideal effect when fifth of 10 (in first-time blinkers) in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) 19 days ago. Needs considering.
Station Bar
Got off the mark in 3-runner handicap at Bath (1m) in May and not disgraced both subsequent runs, going keenly when fourth of 5 in handicap at Ffos Las (1m, good) 15 days ago. No forlorn hope with blinkers tried for the first time.
Strong Voice (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden. Very good second in 7f Ffos Las handicap in June but below that form when sixth of 12 at Sandown (1m, good) 27 days ago. Makes polytrack debut in first time tongue tie/cheekpieces.
Piazza
Still a maiden but advanced her form with second of 8 in handicap at Ffos Las 15 days ago. Up 2 lb but one to consider.
Viviana
Back on track with second of 7 in handicap at Carlisle (7f, good to firm) 8 days ago, nearest finish. Merits consideration off the same mark despite a wide draw on her polytrack debut.
