Timeform View

A typically-competitive opener to the week, with preference for COROLLA POINT who confirmed his previous promise this season with a determined success at Hamilton last time, form boosted by the third winning since. The main danger could be Toca Madera after his unlucky fifth in the Stewards Cup, with Lexington Blitz and Naana's Sparkle completing the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Dubai Bling (IRE)
Has taken his form up a notch this year, winning in Bahrain in April and quickly getting back on track after the Wokingham when scoring at Ascot last month. However, he can let himself down at the start, including when tenth in the Stewards Cup at Goodwood last time.
Stratusnine (IRE)
Shaped well on several occasions this year (narrowly denied over 5f here in May) prior to landing 21-runner contest at this course (6f) last month. Ran a cracker when second in the Stewards Cup at Goodwood and he's not dismissed lightly, though his draw might not be ideal.
West Acre (IRE)
Dual Group winner at Meydan early in 2025 and went close in a Group 3 at Dundalk in October. Has blown the start in 2 of his 3 outings this year, though, tried in blinkers after 6 months off when down the field in the Stewards Cup 18 days ago.
Dark Thirty (IRE)
Took a big-field 6f handicap here in May and also made all at Chester the following month. Better than ever when runner-up in the Scurry Handicap at the Curragh, but wasn't able to repeat that effort in the Stewards Cup. First try at short of 6f.
Corolla Point (IRE)
Made a fine start for current stable (formerly with Charlie Appleby) last September when bagging handicaps at Haydock and Hamilton. Had been shaping up well this season, third here in May, before resuming winning ways at Hamilton 18 days ago. Major player for in-form yard.
Lexington Blitz (IRE)
Produced a career best with a smooth-travelling success at Goodwood in May. Backed that up when third in the Dash at Epsom, despite having not been ideally placed, and had little go right after a rare slow start when sixth in big-field contest at Goodwood 22 days ago. Respected.
Candy
Went with plenty of enthusiasm when an impressive winner of the Ayr Silver Cup last year. However, he reportedly bled when tailed off at Royal Ascot on his return, before suffering a tack issue at Goodwood 22 days ago. Has something to prove at present.
Against The Wind
Useful form in handicaps last season (stiff task in a French Group 1 on final outing), winning twice and also third here last May. Returned with a good third at Southwell in March, but on the back of a breathing operation he shaped as if amiss at this course in May. Off 3 months since.
Toca Madera (IRE)
Capitalised on a reduced mark when scoring easily at Doncaster in July. Not quite in the same form the next twice but ran well in 2 races at Glorious Goodwood, finishing strongly for fifth in the Stewards Cup after meeting trouble. Can make his presence felt.
Trefor (IRE)
3-time winner in 2025, including this same race, and after a couple of lesser efforts at Ascot this season he bounced back to winning ways in sprint series final at Windsor (6f) 9 days ago. Has wide draw to overcome this time around, though.
Erosandpsyche (IRE)
Placed 3 times this summer, returning to form fitted with tongue strap when going close at Cork last month. Not discredited when fifth of 12 at the Curragh 10 days ago, though it's now over 4 years since his last victory.
Naana's Sparkle
Has shown improved form for current yard this year, making it 2 wins from first 3 starts of the campaign when scoring at Southwell in July. Ran at least as well when collared close home in 23-runner contest at Goodwood last time and he could be in the mix once more.
Spartan Arrow (IRE)
4-time winner in 2025, signing off with a Group 3 success at Dundalk in October. Has yet to fire this year, though shaped as if better for the run after 3 months off when down the field at Ascot 11 days ago. Others still more persuasive.
Gold Star Hero (IRE)
Completed an all-weather hat-trick at Wolverhampton in April. Not in the same form back on turf next 2 starts, but produced his best effort on this surface when runner-up at Ascot 11 days ago. Task is now to build on latest run.
Toyotomi (FR)
Listed winner when trained in France and worked his way back to form this year for present yard, capitalising on a drop in grade when successful at Goodwood (6f) in June. However, he found things tougher when never involved in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot last time.
Apollo One
Not the easiest to win with, but after a spell in Dubai he ran well back in Britain when third in a Newmarket handicap (6f) in May. Hasn't kicked on in 3 subsequent outings, mid-field here 25 days ago, but he's down to a career-low mark as a result.
Dapper Valley (IRE)
Free-going type who, after a spell in the UAE, rejoined James Owen and exploited a reduced mark with a pair of quick-fire victories at Leicester and Salisbury in April/May. Off 3 months ahead of stable debut and faces a much more difficult task in his hat-trick bid.
Air Force One (IRE)
Successful at Beverley (5f) in April and, having had excuses at the Dante meeting, was a never-nearer fifth of 16 here later in May. Has continued in good heart the last twice, ¾-length third of 21 to Stratusnine at this course 25 days ago. Third in this race last year (now 7 lb higher).
Stormy Impact
Winner of the 3YO Dash at Epsom in 2025 and was a keeping-on fourth in the Dash itself this year. However, was below form at Goodwood (6f) 22 days ago, so he needs to get back on the up even from her easing mark.
The Man (IRE)
Winner here (5f) on handicap debut last spring before a close second in this race. No better than mid-field in trio of starts in Meydan early this year, but switched to cheekpieces he wasn't ideally placed at Goodwood 22 days ago. One to note back at this venue.
Ziggy's Triton (IRE)
Successful twice this year, taking advantage of a drop in grade when scoring over 5f here in July. However, produced a below-par effort at Newbury only 4 days ago and this is a more competitive race in which to bounce back in.
Another Baar
Returned to his best back at 5f when winning a local Group 1 in Bahrain in January. Hasn't built on that effort since, though, 3 lengths seventh of 11 to Corolla Point in handicap at Hamilton 18 days ago.
