This is wide open. SCHRODINGER'S CAT just missed out to Naana's Shadow over C&D in June and didn't enjoy the rub of the green behind that rival at Goodwood so looks the way to go on these much more advantageous terms. Katie Scott's improving filly still rates a big threat despite an 8 lb hike in the weights, while handicap debutant Zain Primus, Manatee Mehmas and Underwriter also need factoring into this very open sprint.

Timeform Comments

Naana's Shadow (IRE)
Much improved sent handicapping this season, scoring over C&D in June and recording her fourth success of the campaign in 18-runner event at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) 20 days ago. Up another 8 lb but well on top at the finish there so got to be high on the shortlist.
Poatan (IRE)
Landed 6f Windsor novice last summer. Only seen twice since and resumed from 9 months off (gelded) with excellent third in listed race at Sandown (5f, good) in June. May do better still on his handicap debut.
Revival Power (IRE)
A three-time 5f winner at 2 yrs, making all in C&D listed race and Flying Childers at Doncaster for last 2 successes. Yet to fire in 3 runs this season though, well held in listed race over C&D (good to firm) 39 days ago. Needs to prove she's trained on.
Baker Blue
Doubled his tally on all-weather at Wolverhampton (5f) in February. Useful efforts when placed in a pair of 5f handicaps at Pontefract this summer, third of 8 on Sunday. Merits consideration.
Schrodinger's Cat
Doubled his tally at Redcar (5f) in June and took another step forward when edged out by Naana's Shadow over C&D later in June. Not seen to best effect with fifth of 18 to same rival at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) 20 days ago. Meets that rival on 9 lb better terms here. Big shout.
Manatee Mehmas (IRE)
Impressive winner on debut at Doncaster prior to acquitting himself well when fourth in listed event over C&D in May. Posted very good efforts to make the frame behind Naana's Shadow back over C&D and at Goodwood since. In the mix with few miles on the clock and a tongue tie now fitted.
Black Star Boy (IRE)
Made a successful return at Newbury (5f) in April. Not seen to best effect when sixth in listed race over C&D after but a below-par fifteenth of 27 in Palace of Holyroodhouse at Royal Ascot (5f, good to firm) last time. Tongue tied for first time after a break.
Miss Yechance (IRE)
Won twice for Jack Morland in Britain at 2 yrs, before bagging a Meydan handicap in January for A Cintra & Julio Olascoaga. Right back to her best for new yard with third of 18 to Naana's Shadow in handicap at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) 20 days ago. Ought to be thereabouts.
Tricky Tel
Bagged handicaps at Hamilton (6f) and Chester (5f) in early summer. Posted a very good second of 7 in handicap back at Chester (6f, good to firm) 25 days ago so not out of things off an unchanged mark.
Zain Primus
Improving Pinatubo colt who followed 6f novice win at Kempton in April with ready success in 6-runner novice at Newcastle (5f) in May. No reason why he shouldn't prove as effective on turf and he could figure on handicap debut.
Stargazed
Fair 5f winner at 2 yrs who resumed with a very good second in front of a number of these over C&D in May. Below that form since though, slowly away and coming in last of 7 in handicap at Chester (6f, good to firm) 25 days ago. Visor goes on for the first time.
One And Gone (IRE)
Successful in 5f handicaps at Goodwood and Sandown this summer but not at his best last 2 starts, beating just one at Pontefract (5f, good to firm) 3 days ago.
Old Is Gold (IRE)
A fair 5f winner at 2 yrs. Not discredited when sixth in 5f Sandown handicap on his return in April. Sent off 5/1 but only tenth of 18 to Naana's Shadow at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) 20 days ago. Visor goes on for the first time here and could still do better.
Shes Got A Brother
Successful over 5f at Southwell first 2 starts in April. Good efforts on turf next 3 outings, including a fourth over C&D, but ran her first poor race behind Naana's Shadow in handicap at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) 20 days ago. No surprise to see her bounce back.
Underwriter (FR)
Won maiden/novice events over 6f at Ayr for Archie Watson last summer. Bounced back to form on second run for new yard with fourth of 13 in handicap at Ascot (5f, good to firm) 25 days ago, finishing well having been denied a clear run 1f out. Needs considering.
Mighty Magnus (IRE)
Doubled his tally at Musselburgh (5f) in June and in good heart until coming in last of 5 in handicap at Musselburgh (5f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Needs to get back on track.
Dolos Dream
Overcame a wide draw to make a winning handicap debut at Pontefract (5f) in June and advanced her form when second of 12 in handicap here last month. Still not fully exposed and this speedy type could have more to offer.
Boston Dan (IRE)
Useful 5f winner at 2 yrs for Richard Fahey. Yet to match that form this season, failing to beat a rival on second run for new yard in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Needs to take a big step forward.
Call Margot (IRE)
Quirky sort who scored at Southwell (5f) in April and was an unlucky second in 3-y-o Dash at Epsom. Tailed off behind Naana's Shadow in handicap at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) 20 days ago however, so has a bit to prove.
