Timeform View

THE GREAT ESCAPE has saved his very best for this venue, capitalising on a much-reduced mark when successful over C&D 5 weeks ago. A token 2 lb rise doesn't look insurmountable and he rates a big player again. Fellow C&D winner Mancero is similarly compiling a solid course record and is a threat, with Redbridge Rambler another to note back over hurdles.

Timeform Comments

Cinnodin
Fairly-useful Flat performer who opened his account over hurdles at Uttoxeter (3m) in May. Backed that up when a good second over same C&D next time prior to losing his action when pulled up at Newton Abbot (3¼m) in June. Bounce back likely returning from 57 days off.
Back In The Bay (IRE)
Low mileage 7-y-o who tasted success twice at up to (2½m, good to soft) upon joining James Owen last season. Hasn't really built on those efforts since, though, failing to come on for his reappearance when fifth on chasing debut at Uttoxeter 6 weeks ago. Tackles a longer trip now returned to timber.
October Hill (IRE)
NON RUNNER.
Fiskardo (IRE)
Won a Perth bumper on the back of a significant absence in April and showed something like hurdles debut form at second attempt when fourth on handicap debut at Uttoxeter (2½m) 24 days ago. Appeals as the type to stay the longer trip and mark eased 2 lb ahead of this.
Mistral Blue
Capped an upswing in form with a third career success in mares company at Uttoxeter (23f) in June. However, found a 5 lb rise enough to prevent further success when sixth over same C&D 4 weeks ago and she's yet to defy a mark this high.
Betty's Tiara
8-y-o mare who looked very rusty back from a break when seventh in a C&D handicap in May and no upturn for switch to chasing in 2 subsequent runs last month. Fitting of first-time blinkers (in place of cheekpieces) need to have positive effect now.
Redbridge Rambler (IRE)
Back to winning ways in 3m Warwick handicap chase in May and shaped as if still in good form when fourth over C&D next time. A hard race then may of left its mark at Market Rasen next time but makes a belated return to hurdles from a potentially lenient mark. Interesting in a switch of headgear.
Stiletto
Three-time winner during 2025 who bettered previous exploits this season when adding a second C&D victory to his tally 6 weeks ago. Raised 7 lb on the back of that and possibilities for all Sean Bowen has plumped to ride Mancero on this occasion.
Final Entry (IRE)
Doubled his career/Newton Abbot tally when narrow winner in first-time visor in June. Seemed anchored by a 4 lb rise more than anything when a respectable fourth in a C&D handicap since and he may have to settle for a minor role again.
Atreides (IRE)
Won back-to-back small-field handicap chase contests in December and in good heart of late, posting a creditable third of 6 over 2½m here 34 days ago. Has first start over hurdles since 2024/25 campaign under a jockey having first ride over jumps today.
Kenzo Des Bruyeres (FR)
Dual point winner who shaped quite well on his last 2 starts over hurdles. However, has made an inauspicious start over fences (well backed first 2 starts) this summer. Needs the return to hurdling to spark a revival equipped with a first-time visor.
Barry Fife (IRE)
Lightly-raced 7-y-o who stopped the slide to some extent with first-time blinkers enlisted when third in a C&D handicap 4 weeks ago. However, his overall record hardly suggests he'll build on that with a visor now the headgear of choice.
The Great Escape (IRE)
Relatively lightly-raced 6-y-o who has saved his best for this venue, capitalising on a much-reduced mark when opening his account in a C&D handicap 5 weeks ago. Raised 2 lb on the back of that and he's well worth considering again.
Mancero (FR)
Building up a good record around here (form figures now 121) when running out a convincing winner of a C&D handicap 4 weeks ago. Interesting Sean Bowen retains the ride and this 4-y-o looks another live player from a 5 lb higher mark.
Ikigai Star (IRE)
Inconsistent since winning at Huntingdon in May last year, though he did fare better than of late when 2 lengths third of 6 behind The Great Escape in a C&D handicap 5 weeks ago. Hasn't had many goes over staying trips if he can build on that.
Farhh Echo (IRE)
Made the frame in maiden over 2m here last summer but has offered little in handicaps since. Steps up in trip on the back of a break (also tongue tied) with work to do.
Sims' Law (IRE)
Not badly bred by any means but showed nothing in his qualifying hurdle runs and fared no better switched to handicaps at Uttoxeter (2½m, good to soft) in June. Tongue strap goes on following a 67-day layoff.
