Timeform View

Joseph O'Brien's ONE NUMBER sets a good standard for a race of this nature judged on the pick of his exploits in Ireland and with the return to 1m/switch to all-weather both potential positives, he earns the vote to leave behind a lesser effort at Galway with first-time cheekpieces now reached for. Charlie Appleby's strike rate with 2-y-o newcomers is an enviable one and his Royal Acclamation commands obvious respect on racecourse bow. Fellow newcomer Blueabad may emerge next best.

One Number traded at a low of 3.70 and Betfair SP of 3.66 when losing last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Berkshire Regal (IRE)
Foaled April 14. €35,000 foal, 90,000 gns yearling, Calyx colt. Half-brother to 10.4f winner Imbleville and 9.4f/1¼m winner Illois, both in France. Dam French 9.5f-11f winner. Represents leading yard on debut so one to note for a positive market move.
Blueabad
Foaled March 24. Blue Point colt. Dam, winner up to 1¾m (2-y-o 1m winner), half-sister to very smart 1¼m-1½m winner (stayed 2m) Dubday and smart 13.3f-16.2f winner Dannyday. Very good yard 4-28 with their 2-y-o debutants at the time of writing and another to note in the betting for clues.
Dust My Broom
Foaled April 17. 3,000 gns yearling, Cracksman colt. Dam unraced half-sister to very smart 6f winner Shalaa out of 2-y-o 6f winner (stayed 9.7f) Ghurra. Stable are 0-24 with their 2-y-o runners in last 5 seasons and he's a likely outsider.
Minsmere (IRE)
Foaled April 25. €50,000 yearling, Minzaal colt. Half-brother to 1¼m winner Heiselectric. Dam unraced. Hails from a stable who are no stranger to success with their debutants so another to note for positive market vibes.
One Number (USA)
Jack Christopher colt who showed plenty when second on debut at the Curragh in June and back on the up when third in listed company at Naas (1m) in July. Disappointed back down in grade in a Galway maiden since but switch to all-weather could see him get back on track. Cheekpieces reached for.
Royal Acclamation
Foaled March 11. Zarak colt. Closely related to 1¼m winner Blessed Honour. Dam unraced half-sister to useful winner up to 1m Lilt out of very smart 1m-1¼m (Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf) winner Dank. Top stable are 10-25 with 2-y-o debutants at time of writing this season and well worthy of note
Yellow Vision (IRE)
Foaled April 6. 67,000 gns yearling, Space Blues colt. Closely related to winner abroad by New Bay. Dam, winner at around 1m who stayed 10.3f, half-sister to Doncaster Cup winner Thomas Hobson.
Appassionata
Foaled February 13. Golden Horn filly. Half-sister to several winners, including smart winner up to 1½m Cabaletta and useful winner up to 1¼m Pivotal Trigger. Pedigree firmly suggests she's the type to come into her own when tackling longer trips further down the line.
