Timeform View

CAPTAIN COOL left the impression he would have finished closer still but for losing momentum at the last when third behind Sir Tivo here over shorter 32 days ago and, with the Jennie Candlish yard continuing in fine form, he's fancied to emerge victorious on this occasion. Crebilly is potentially well handicapped on the pick of his old chase form and is a threat. Parisencore completes the shortlist back at a more suitable trip.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Captain Cool has traded at more than 2 times Betfair SP twice when winning during its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Crebilly (IRE)
Finally capitalised on a falling mark over a trip looking a bare minimum for him nowadays over hurdles at Market Rasen (20.5f) in May. Respectable fourth kept to hurdles at Uttoxeter (23f) a month later and he's potentially well handicapped on pick of his old chase form returned to this sphere.
Magistrato (FR)
Much improved when dominating a trio of small-field chases during second half of last year, the first leg this corresponding race. Excuses in pair of starts over fences/hurdles thereafter but 5-month absence to overcome from what is effectively a 19 lb higher mark than he defied here 12 months ago.
Bagheera Ginge
At his best when able to dominate and he's been well placed to win 3 of his last 5 starts, including when forging clear of 3 rivals here (23f) 7 weeks ago. Career-high mark to defy now, though, and his suspect jumping could be put under more scrutiny back over this shorter trip.
Captain Cool (IRE)
Has made a fine start over fences, registering a third success in a matter of strides over 17f here in June. Similar form when third behind Sir Tivo back here last time, likely he'd have finished closer still but for losing momentum at the last. Likely player again back up in trip.
Parisencore (FR)
Won at Newcastle over 2½m in April and ran creditably on the back of a breathing operation when second of 7 at Hexham (15.6f) in June. Looked stretched trying 3m for the first time when fifth at Perth 6 weeks ago and the return to this shorter trip looks in his favour now.
Sir Tivo (FR)
Four-time course winner who bounced right back to his recent best when defying a 2 lb lower mark over 17f here 32 days ago (Captain Cool placed third). Again has the assistance of Sean Bowen but he wouldn't be certain to be suited by this longer trip.
