Timeform View

GEMINI STAR made a promising start for Julia and Shelley Birkett when runner-up in a big-field Thirsk handicap on her return in May and is weighted to go one better here. Operation Gimcrack is feared most on the back of a narrow reverse at Doncaster, although Mount Ruapehu, Desert Master and Wait For It also need factoring into this very open sprint.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Desert Master traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 5 starts: Wait For It traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Ottawa
Won at Southwell wearing cheekpieces and tongue strap in December for Joseph Parr. Hasn't fired since, off 6 months before last of 10 for new yard there (6f) two weeks ago.
Operation Gimcrack (IRE)
Course winner in February and back to his best with neck second of 11 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Not taken lightly despite 2 lb weights rise.
Secret Road (IRE)
Made a winning debut for Laura Mongan on all-weather at Lingfield (1m) in March but ended time with yard well below par. This C&D scorer needs this yard switch to spark a resurgence.
Gemini Star (IRE)
On a long losing run for Alice Haynes but she shaped well after 7 months for new yard when second of 17 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to soft) in May. Weighted to go very well nudged up 2 lb after another break.
Donald
Remains winless but he got back on track with fourth of 10 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Not out of things on his tapeta debut.
Get Up Everybody (IRE)
Yet to get his head in front but he comes here in good nick, third of 11 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago. No forlorn hope eased 1 lb.
Mount Ruapehu (IRE)
Won 3 times on all-weather early in 2026. Not so good back on turf since, only eighth of 11 in handicap at Hamilton (5f, good to firm) 19 days ago. This C&D scorer can't be totally dismissed back on an artificial surface here though.
White Umbrella
Bounced back to form in refitted blinkers with success in 13-runner handicap at Ayr (6f, good) 10 days ago. Needs to back it up now under a 4 lb penalty.
Multaneighttothree (IRE)
Lightly-raced Starspangledbanner gelding failed to build on earlier promise with a free-going ninth of 10 in 1m novice here in February. May still do better after a layoff on his handicap debut over this much shorter trip.
Mart
Course scorer and largely in good nick without winning for Dylan Cunha this season. Failed to build on Yarmouth third for new stable when just sixth of 7 in handicap at Brighton (6f, good) 13 days ago. Bounce back required.
Asadjumeirah
A 6-time C&D winner who ended a losing sequence in 13-runner classified event over C&D 20 days ago, suited by way race developed. Needs to back it up reverted to handicap company.
Wait For It (IRE)
Yet to win from 15 starts but she comes here in decent form, a fading fourth of 7 in classified event at Catterick (7f, firm) 16 days ago. Needs considering dropping back in trip.
Desert Master
It's now twenty nine runs since his last victory in 2025 but he posted a solid third of 13 to Asadjumeirah in classified event over C&D 20 days ago. This course winner is not out of things.
Newyorkstateofmind
Veteran who went close in 5f Catterick handicap in May. Not in same form since, extending a long losing run when sixth of 9 in classified event at Thirsk (6f, good) last time.
