Timeform View

BACIO was most impressive at Royal Ascot and has the potential to dominate a European 5f scene that has been thin for a number of years. Rayevka has improved for the drop back to 5f and has the form to go close, as does American Affair, who looked back to his very best when winning the King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

Timeform Comments

Ain't Nobody (IRE)
Seemed to excel himself in first-time headgear when second in this last season but that remains a standout effort. Gelded since last seen.
American Affair
Group 1 winner at Royal Ascot last summer and finally confirmed he retains all his ability (off 11 months prior to reappearance) when winning Group 2 at Glorious Goodwood by ½ length from Rumstar. Can make presence felt.
Cover Up (IRE)
Had a productive spell at Meydan during the winter/spring, winning listed event/Blue Point Sprint, and looked better than ever when coming from off the pace to win Group 2 at the Curragh by ¾ length from Partisan Hero. This tougher but he wouldn't be inconvenienced by rain.
Jm Jungle (IRE)
Made the leap from handicaps to pattern company last season, making most when narrow winner of Group 2 at Glorious Goodwood. However, just respectable efforts at best this campaign and only sixth in this last year when arriving in better form. Blinkers on 1st time.
Night Raider (IRE)
Gelded prior to reappearance and looked better than ever when dominating a Group 3 at Newmarket before overcoming a tardy start in Temple Stakes at Haydock. Scuppered by a low draw at Royal Ascot but needs to shrug off a lacklustre effort at Glorious Goodwood.
Partisan Hero (IRE)
Has taken his form up a notch since campaigned as a sprinter, backing up his C&D handicap win when placed in Sandown Group 3 and Group 2 at the Curragh (second to Cover Up). Behind a few of these in Group 2 at Glorious Goodwood since but was without his usual headgear (back on now) that day.
Redorange
Built on an encouraging return over C&D at the Dante Meeting when scoring in ready fashion in a Windsor handicap later that month. Disappointed at Carlisle next time but quickly back on track when beating a few of these in C&D listed event 6 weeks ago. Career best required at this level.
Rumstar
Unable to peg back Night Raider in the Palace House at Newmarket on return. Excuses at Royal Ascot before winning Sandown Group 3. Came out best in his group when ½-length second to American Affair in Group 2 at Glorious Goodwood and should be on the premises again (fifth of 17 in this last year).
Starlust
Very lightly raced since winning the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint in 2024 (briefly took up stud duties) but proved he still has plenty to offer when ¼-length fourth of 13 to Redorange in C&D listed event 6 weeks ago. Goes well here so could outrun his odds.
Bacio (USA)
Highly progressive US 3-y-o who produced a performance of Group 1 standard when easily landing a gamble in Royal Ascot handicap 9 weeks ago, making all in a fast time. Looks an ideal candidate for this with promise of more to come.
Mission Central (IRE)
Didn't always look straightforward as a juvenile but he's emphatically kicked on again this year, though benefiting from a superb ride when getting up late in 26-runner King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot. Unable to reproduce that form faced with a different set-up in July Cup since.
Asfoora (AUS)
Three-time European Group 1 winner, including this race and Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp last year. Hasn't been in the same form this season but she at least showed a lot more spark when length fourth to American Affair in Group 2 at Glorious Goodwood 3 weeks ago.
Azure Angel
Bounced back to her best when resuming winning ways in listed event at Bath in April. Better form in defeat next 3 starts before losing all chance at the start latest. Likely to find a few too strong at this level.
Heavenly Heather
Progressive in handicaps and seemed to excel herself at the highest level when 1½ lengths sixth in King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot. Easy to forgive next run but she needs another career best just to figure.
Rayevka (IRE)
Strong-travelling French filly who has relished the drop back to 5f on her last 2 starts, winning Group 3 at Longchamp before just edged out by the fast-finishing Mission Central in King Charles III at Royal Ascot. Must enter the reckoning.
Time For Sandals (IRE)
Surprise winner of the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last season. Had cut little ice this campaign until a very good ¾-length third to American Affair in Group 2 at Glorious Goodwood.
Fitzella
Group 3 winner as a juvenile but she's proving difficult to place this season and this looks too demanding.
Pershaada (IRE)
Progressive filly who was supplemented for this after her smooth success in the Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood. This is a huge jump for a juvenile but she does receive a massive weight allowance and stable won this with a 2-y-o filly in 1992.
