Timeform View

While there are some reservations about KIMI DE MAI as a betting proposition, he's still the one to beat on all known form. First Ascent and Mistakenforanother are most interesting among the remainder.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Kimi De Mai traded at a low of 5.30 and Betfair SP of 9.35 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Baila Conmigo (IRE)
Fair 3-time winner over middle distances on the all-weather. Wasn't disgraced when well-held sixth of 18 at Galway on latest Flat start. Now sent hurdling in first-time hood, and he'll probably be better off in handicaps down the line.
Hinchinbrooke
Fairly useful Flat performer. Off the mark in a Chelmsford handicap (1¼m) on final start for Jane Chapple-Hyam. Went backwards from his hurdling bow at Galway (100/1) last time and handicaps probably the aim now.
Puppet Master (IRE)
Won the Lingfield Derby Trial for Aidan O'Brien last year. Has looked a shadow of his former self for present yard, beaten 12½ lengths at Bellewstown second time up over hurdles before another no show on the Flat at Galway. Connections may have an eye on low-grade handicap hurdles after this run.
Kimi De Mai (FR)
Won 3 of 4 in French bumpers. Ran by far her best race over hurdles when third in listed handicap hurdle at Leopardstown in early-February. Made it successive below-par efforts on return at Galway earlier this month, however, she's been found a golden opportunity to open her hurdles account here.
Charles The Bold (IRE)
Winning pointer who was unplaced on latest start in that sphere. Never involved on Rules debut here (19f) last time. Drop back to 2m suggests he's being brought along with handicaps in mind.
First Ascent (IRE)
Has hit the frame in back-to-back maidens without coming close to replicating his fairly useful Flat form. Fortunate to finish second when beaten 14 lengths over C&D last time. Chances of going one better probably hinge on Kimi De Mai underperforming.
Grabat (FR)
Supported at long odds when well held on bumper debut. Fared no better (easy to back) on hurdling debut at Killarney since. Longer-term prospect.
Jodoro (IRE)
Showed more than previously (despite jumping none too fluently) at Roscommon in early-July, unseating at the last through no fault of his own. Another one that'll be better suited to handicaps.
Le Roi Arthur (IRE)
Made the frame on second of 2 starts in points. Gone backwards since a mildly promising Rules debut, though, latterly falling on return at Roscommon.
Anns Getaway (IRE)
Finished third on her sole start in points. Subsequently well beaten in a pair of hurdle starts 14 months apart.
Mistakenforanother (IRE)
Flat-bred daughter of Free Eagle. Best effort in bumpers when 2½ lengths second here in mid-June. Daniel King a positive jockey booking for hurdling debut, for all she'll probably need to improve on her bumper form.
Rene's Gold
Unpromising in points. Some encouragement on Rules debut at Galway (150/1), and she'll probably do better in handicaps over longer trips.
Rose Mountain (IRE)
No form in bumpers/maiden hurdles to date.
Really Truly (IRE)
Sister to fair 2m hurdle winner. Hooded and showed only greenness on debut at Tramore (11/1) 8 days ago. Worth a market check but relatively quick turnaround suggests she's probably a handicap project for excellent yard.
Rickety Kate (IRE)
Order of St George filly. Dam (c111/h108), 19f chase winner (stayed 21f), half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser who became unreliable (2m-2½m winner) Lust For Glory. In good hands and needs a market check in a thin maiden. RESERVE
Loadstone (IRE)
Galileo Chrome gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Shaboozee. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 2½m) Duhallow Gesture. Worth a second look given his pedigree/connections. RESERVE
Geashill Poet (IRE)
Urban Poet gelding. Dam of little account on Flat. Doesn't look an obvious type on paper. RESERVE
