Timeform View

CHARLIE LUCIANO wasn't seen to ideal effect when fourth in a big-field Galway handicap last time and can quickly resume winning ways off the same mark here. Koori Star could emerge as the chief threat now back chasing after an encouraging ninth on his return over hurdles, although both Ira Hayes and A Wave Of The Sea also need factoring in.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Scalpnagoon traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: A Wave Of The Sea has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Charlie Luciano (IRE)
Back on the up with C&D win in July and followed it up with a good fourth of 20 in handicap chase at Galway (23f, good to soft) 21 days ago when conceding first run. Expected to be bang there off an unchanged mark.
A Wave Of The Sea (IRE)
Course winner. 13/2, seventh of 10 in handicap chase here (2½m, good) 67 days ago, going in snatches. Up in trip. Not ruled out from a slipping mark.
Ceanndana (IRE)
Winless since 2024 but he posted a creditable fourth of 8 in handicap chase here (2½m, good) 13 days ago. Up in trip and needs considering.
Koori Star (IRE)
Fifteen runs since his last win in 2024. Off 4 months but he posted an encouraging ninth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Galway (2¾m, good to soft) 20 days ago, needing stiffer test. Not without interest back chasing over this longer trip.
Ira Hayes (IRE)
Fortunate winner of beginners chase at Tramore (2¾m) in April. Has advanced his form since, fourth of 18 in handicap chase at Galway (23f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Can go well again.
Scalpnagoon (IRE)
Fairly useful over hurdles and has translated that level to chasing, placing for a sixth time when third of 6 at Wexford (19f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Not out of things on handicap chase debut.
Granville Street (IRE)
Fairly useful winning hurdler but comes here on the back of a poor effort on the Flat in handicap at Galway (1½m, good) 20 days ago. Makes chase debut.
Ad Caelum (IRE)
Ended a losing sequence over hurdles here in June but pulled up in handicap at Galway (2¾m, good to soft) 20 days ago. More needed back over fences.
The Dara Man (IRE)
Unreliable sort. In the process of running well (close up) when fell 3 out in handicap chase at Killarney (23f, good) 35 days ago. This course scorer needs to back it up.
