Timeform View

MANTON BAY has shaped well on each of his last 4 starts and, granted a truer pace than last time, is taken to open his account as a 3-y-o. Kirkland Sioux won consecutive handicaps at Fairyhouse and the Curragh in July and, though she didn’t fire on softer ground at Galway last time, she looks capable of bouncing back and rates the chief danger, with the progressive Iamimmaculate also respected in a first-time tongue strap.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Elmakaya traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 4 starts.

Timeform Comments

Mayflower (IRE)
Overcame inexperience to make a winning start in a Leopardstown maiden as a 2-y-o, but hasn’t kicked on since finishing midfield in a pair of Guineas trials in the spring. Her last 2 handicap efforts suggest she may need further respite from the handicapper before becoming of interest.
Do For Love (IRE)
Ex-French Sioux Nation filly that improved when winning a 1m polytrack maiden at Chantilly in February for Christopher Head but then failed to repeat that form in a pair of minor events. Makes debut for new connections having been acquired for €11,000 in July.
Kirkland Sioux (IRE)
Won extended 1m handicap at Fairyhouse in July before showing further progress when following up off 12 lb higher mark in 6-runner event at the Curragh 18 days later. Failed to give running up another 11 lb and faced with softer going at Galway last time but no surprise were she to bounce back here.
Manton Bay (IRE)
Dundalk 1m juvenile winner. Has gone with promise on all 4 runs sent handicapping this season, undone by a steady gallop when 2¼ lengths second of 8 to Dark Viper at Leopardstown last month. Remains one to be interested in.
Oscar Nominee
Promising type. Won 7-runner 9.5f Wolverhampton maiden (13/2) on debut by length from Too Hot To Tango, overcoming pace bias. Took a step forward when 2 lengths second of 9 to Ribbon Of Sea in minor event over same C&D in March. Makes turf debut for new connections.
Iamimmaculate (IRE)
Left Daniel McLoughlin after scoring at Naas last September and has continued to progress since, stepping up from reappearance when 1½ lengths second of 11 to Blue Blue Moon at Galway last time. Wears first-time tongue strap.
Totally Puzzled (IRE)
Left previous efforts well behind in first-time hood when winning 1m maiden at Naas in May by a head from Elmakaya, battling well. Further improvement needed now but it would be folly to rule it out after just a trio of runs.
Elmakaya (IRE)
Just failed to reel in Totally Puzzled in an 8-runner maiden at Naas on her second start and has backed that up when in the frame in large-field events at that course and Gowran since, though shaped as if ready for a step up in trip when fourth at latter track last time.
