Timeform View

EAGLE FANG and Immutable both arrive on the back of excellent placed efforts in Premier Handicaps at Galway so they top the shortlist, in that order. Luker's Tipple is potentially on a good mark back in this sphere after his recent exploits over jumps so he's another to consider.

Timeform Comments

Taipan (FR)
Backed to form when just failing to win a Galway event for the third year on the trot 3 weeks ago but he remains opposable in handicaps (0-12).
Eagle Fang (IRE)
Smart hurdler. Chased home a subsequent winner in Leopardstown maiden before going one better with a bit in hand over C&D. Excellent fourth of 20 in Premier Handicap at Galway last month and he has the scope to do better again on jumps form.
Granite Bay
Reliable sort but has crept up the weights without winning since the beginning of last season, not far off his best when seventh of 20 at Galway last month. Headgear now given a whirl.
Royal Hollow (IRE)
Ran as well as she ever has in this sphere when neck second at Ballinrobe in June but below that level since, including back over hurdles last time. Well-run race and a career best likely needed if she's to feature here.
The Real Screamer (IRE)
Has had a productive year, winning at Dundalk and Leopardstown before a creditable third at the Curragh. Left poorly placed at Galway 3 weeks ago but step up in trip probably needs to bring about some improvement off current mark.
Factual Fact (FR)
Done well since switching to handicaps, winning here over 2m1f in May before good second at the Curragh. Something must have been amiss there next time out.
Light Up The Dark
Low-mileage 5-y-o who returned with a cosy win at Gowran. Hasn't kicked on either start since but she wasn't seen to best effect at Galway last month and she possibly still has a bigger performance in her.
War Rooms (IRE)
Snapped lengthy losing run back in cheekpieces at Ballinrobe last month but he didn't have much in hand that day and looks vulnerable up 6 lb in better race.
Immutable (IRE)
Mudlark who found only a progressive 3-y-o too strong in a Premier Handicap at Galway 3 weeks ago and likely player again off a similar mark provided he stays this longer distance/rain arrives.
Gaoth Chuil (IRE)
Done well since switching back to the Flat this summer, winning twice, including when comfortably making all here (2m 1f) on handicap bow. However, needs to shrug off a below-par effort at Galway last month.
Luker's Tipple (IRE)
Thriving over jumps in recent weeks and he's potentially well treated if able to transfer that form back to the Flat.
Sir Jeremy (IRE)
Responded well to headgear when recording a second win for this yard at Galway 3 weeks ago, doing well to get up having been ridden patiently upped in trip. However, consistency isn't his strong point and it remains to be seen if blinkers have the same effect stepping up in distance again.
Chutzpal (IRE)
Showed benefit of reappearance when fifth at Fairyhouse and stepped up again when beaten just over 2 lengths at Leopardstown, albeit well placed in a bunch finish.
