Timeform View

The fitness of the returning SAMUI has to be taken on trust but he is difficult to oppose in the finale. Ragmans Corner and Murat may give him most to think about.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Samui traded at a low of 8.60 and Betfair SP of 21.53 when losing last time, a race in which it raced towards the rear.

Timeform Comments

Murat (IRE)
Free-going winner in bumpers/over hurdles who left his previous effort on the Flat well behind when landing 5-runner minor event over shorter trip at Leopardstown 43 days ago, always holding on. Leading amateur booked and ought to go well again.
Ragmans Corner (IRE)
Back from 6 months off when scoring over hurdles here in May and acquitted himself well under both codes since. Can make presence felt.
Samui
C&D winner who ran well in much stronger contests last summer, making the frame twice at Royal Ascot before creditable second of 6 in Silver Cup at York (1¾m). Not seen since but stands out on form here.
Can Happen (IRE)
Got off the mark for his new yard (formerly with Mark Fahey) over hurdles at Ballinrobe in May and ran well making debut in this sphere when second over shorter trip at Bellewstown last month. Below best back over jumps at Galway since but warrants respect here.
Glowing Account (FR)
Le Havre gelding who displayed fairly useful form when landing first of his 3 starts in bumpers at Listowel in September 2023. Absent for well over 2 years and shaped as if needing the outing in Galway maiden last month. This run should reveal more.
Silas Marner (IRE)
Long-standing maiden under various codes who has offered little in a couple of starts for new connections this year.
Simpletwistoffaith (IRE)
Fair maiden hurdler but well held all 3 starts on the Flat. Hard to fancy.
Supreme Law (IRE)
Remains a maiden after 20 Flat runs and finished a long way behind on return from 12-month absence at Leopardstown 15 days ago.
