KING’S SCHOLAR needs to sharpen up in the jumping department, but he’s still made an encouraging start to his hurdling career and gets the nod to complete the hat-trick back from a break with the potential to raise his game further based on his good-quality Flat form. Whermyrosemarygoes had more in hand than the final margin suggests on her recent hurdling debut at Uttoxeter and looks the obvious threat.

Bordering on useful up to 1¾m on Flat for Ed Walker and showed the benefit of his initial experience over hurdles in a first-time tongue strap when readily landing 2m maiden at Southwell in May. Made hard work of defying a penalty at Worcester later that month but retains plenty of potential.
Playful Fox (FR)
4-y-o who showed much-improved form when opening account in 6-runner handicap at Stratford (2m) in June. Ran at least as well in defeat from a 3 lb higher mark at Worcester subsequently but needs to pull out a bit more to come out on top on these terms.
