BY THE BOOK comes here on the back of a good Beverley second in similar company and looks to have been found a very good opportunity to resume winning ways. Lazy Griff wasn't at his best in the Goodwood Cup but still rates much the biggest threat down in class, while Lady Vivian and Fantasy World appeal as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

Placed in the Derby at Epsom and Irish Derby at the Curragh last year. Landed listed event at Sandown (2m, good) in July but a well-held seventh in first-time cheekpieces in Goodwood Cup at Goodwood (2m, good to firm) since. Can bounce back with headgear quickly discarded.
By The Book (IRE)
Low-mileage but smart 5-y-o who won 3 of his first 4 starts in 2024/25. Back from 3 months off with good second of 5 to Al Aasy in listed race at Beverley (1½m, good) in July. Expected to be bang there.
Duraji (IRE)
Useful performer who got back on track with fourth of 7 in handicap at Newbury (2m, firm) 35 days ago. This demands more though if he's to end a losing sequence.
Fantasy World (IRE)
Made into a useful performer on Flat in 2025, signing off with victory in 14f listed race at Ascot. Off since pulled in Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham in March for Nicky Henderson but not out of things back with former yard.
Midak (FR)
Useful winner (up to 11f) for Francis-Henri Graffard in France in 2025. Back to that level for this yard when fourth in small-field listed races at Goodwood and Newbury. Too free in refitted hood when seventh in Glorious Stakes at Goodwood (1½m, good to firm) last time though.
Tactician
Made up into a useful stayer in 2024, doubling his tally in 2m Ascot handicap. Off for 23 months (gelded) so the market can prove a good guide on his comeback.
Lady Vivian (IRE)
Useful filly who was twice a winner at 1½m in 2025. Advanced her form when 2¾ lengths second of 4 to Lazy Griff in listed race at Sandown (2m, good) in July. This course winner needs considering.
Orchard Keeper (IRE)
Fairly useful mare. Resumed from 10 months off with a fair fifth of 8 in listed race at Newmarket (1½m, good to firm) 3 weeks ago. This demands a sizeable step forward however.
