Timeform View

A chance is taken on SILIN ALAINN, who hasn’t shown a great deal over hurdles but has a handicap mark to reflect that, and her switch to a top, in-form yard with a good record with similar sorts is well worth taking seriously in what looks a modest handicap hurdle. Uptaurintop arrives in good form and appeals as the one most likely to take advantage should the selection fail to fire, with both Tedworth and The Border Boy also respected.

Timeform Comments

Deise Crystal
Good second of 13 in 17f handicap at Wexford in May but not so good at same track on last 2 outings, appearing to hang fire under pressure when fifth in 2½m event on latest. Should be suited by this sort of test from a workable mark but questions to answer now.
Pure Logic
Modest maiden hurdler who returned to form when 5¼ lengths third of 16 to The Cobblers Wife in 2½m handicap at Tramore last time. She didn't shape all that well that day, though, and consistency has been an issue in this sphere.
Pirate Island (IRE)
Winning pointer who hasn't made much impact under Rules since 2023/24, including on debut for current yard last time.
Andyourbirdcansing (IRE)
Inconsistent performer took advantage of a slipping mark under a good-value claimer at Sligo last month. Probably wasn't helped by the drop in trip when below form there (2¼m) subsequently but essentially remains a difficult one to catch right. RESERVE 6.05 Kilbeggan Friday.
Maxicourt (IRE)
Shaped well when third of 23 in extended 17 f handicap at Cork in July but followed that with a below-par effort at the same course and was never nearer when 6½ lengths fifth of 16 to The Cobblers Wife at Tramore last time. This looks too competitive.
Coup D'essay (FR)
Failed to justify support when seventh of 15 in handicap hurdle (13/2) at Limerick (2½m, soft) in late-May and there was no encouragement from his latest effort at Sligo last month.
Silin Alainn (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden who hasn't been seen since bombing out on handicap debut at Limerick in October 2024. Has since joined a top yard that boasts a good record with new recruits, however, and must be taken seriously if the market speaks in her favour.
Tedworth (IRE)
Finally put it all together when taking advantage of a falling mark at Tramore in April. Hasn't really had the rub of the green since but likely remains on a handy mark and Michael Kenneally returning to the saddle can only be viewed as a positive. Player.
Ballinvasas Best (IRE)
Second run after long absence when fourth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (17f, good) in July. Got no further than the first at Wexford last time. Should be suited by this test but needs to find some improvement to feature.
Uptaurintop (IRE)
Failed to impress in a couple of outings over fences but has shaped with promise on each of his last 4 starts in handicap hurdles, briefly looking the most likely winner when 7¼ lengths third of 16 to Chesterbaylad at Cork on latest. Another bold bid anticipated.
Laligurash (IRE)
Failed to complete in points and well held in 4 hurdles, including a handicap.
Drumadeise (IRE)
Little show in 5 runs so far, including in handicaps.
Whatyouwant (IRE)
Stepped up on reappearance when 9 lengths fifth of 15 to Knocknagoran Lady at Kilbeggan in July but failed to build on that at Ballinrobe last time. Back down in trip now and place claims if able to get back on track.
Keyser Smokesy (IRE)
Little solid hurdle form back in 2024 and didn't shape with much encouragement back under Rules at this track on return.
Lake Okeechobee (IRE)
Responded well to headgear when 7¾ lengths fourth of 18 to Larkins Lane in handicap hurdle (50/1) at Limerick (2½m, soft) in May but took a step backwards when only mid-field in a similar event at Sligo last time. Cheekpieces now removed.
The Border Boy (IRE)
Cork handicap hurdle winner who produced his best effort over fences when a very good fourth of 10 in handicap at Tramore (2¾m) in May. Made a noise when disappointing last time but not ruled out returned to hurdling from last winning mark.
Ballindenisk (IRE)
Point winner who hasn't made much impact under Rules but shaped as if in need of a stiffer test when down the field in 17f Wexford handicap hurdle in May. Will be suited by this step up in trip. RESERVE.
Mr Macphisto (IRE)
Two-time winner who showed nothing on return from a lengthy absence at Wexford last month. RESERVE.
Mc Swagger (IRE)
In frame first 2 starts in bumpers but has been let down by his free-going nature and jumping for the most part over hurdles, including on handicap debut. RESERVE.
