Timeform View

Standard-setter ARGENTARIUS may well make it third time lucky. Interesting newcomer Formous is feared, especially if the market speaks in her favour. Red Primrose's debut form has worked out well, and she also needs considering along with Pink Venom, Film Set and Alfresco.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

The pace doesn’t look like being overly strong here and Argentarius should still be served best by being ridden prominently: Despite a suspicion the pace will be sound, those held up such as Lady H usually is are still likely to have their work cut out.

Timeform Comments

A Girl Named Sioux (IRE)
Makes some appeal on paper. Well held on debut at Leopardstown (7f, 50/1). Reverts to sprinting in first-time hood and may still need the experience.
Alfresco (IRE)
Foaled March 6. €250,000 yearling, No Nay Never filly. Half-sister to several winners, including very smart 1m-1¼m winner Prague and useful 1m-10.4f winner Glyfada. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner, won Princess Margaret Stakes and runner-up in Cheveley Park Stakes. Notable newcomer, especially if backed.
Annie Tips (IRE)
Showed more than first time up when beaten over 4 lengths at Cork (5f). This is probably a springboard to nurseries.
Argentarius
Won 10-runner barrier trial at Naas in May. Chased home subsequent Group 3 winner Ballinea Star on debut at Cork (6f). Form of subsequent fourth at Galway also has merit (second since placed in listed company). Sets a fairly useful standard here.
Fahrana (FR)
Foaled March 2. Mehmas filly. Half-sister to useful winner up to 7f Dublin Bay. Dam, placed at 1m in France, out of smart 1m-1¼m winner Faufiler, herself daughter of Breeders' Cup Mile winner Six Perfections. Pink Venom probably the stable's leading hope.
Film Set (USA)
Siyouni filly out of Group 3 winner over 1m. Did her best work late when 8½ lengths fifth of 9 to Livenka at Fairyhouse (6f) on debut (form will be tested by Silver Kiss in the preceding race). Will improve for top connections, for all she'll probably be best over further (entered in 7f Group 2).
Formous (IRE)
Foaled March 14. €360,000 2-y-o, Starman filly. Sister to 2-y-o 6.5f winner Smartman. Dam unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 6f Fairyland. Makes plenty of appeal on paper, especially as she holds some lofty late-season Group entries.
Katsuit (IRE)
Foaled April 14. Inns of Court filly. Dam unraced half-sister to useful 1½m-2m winner Grandmaster Flash. Doesn't look an obvious type on racecourse bow.
Lady H
€105,000 yearling, €190,000 2-y-o. St Mark's Basilica filly. Half-sister to useful 2-y-o 6f winner Midnight Tango and 2-y-o 1m winner Fernando. Dam, 2-y-o 6f winner, half-sister to smart 5f-6f winner Makarova. Yard doesn't have many precocious 2-y-os, but this certainly looks one on paper.
Pink Venom (IRE)
Down the field in a Curragh maiden that's worked out well on debut. Much sharper when 3½ lengths third to a now-useful one at Fairyhouse (6f) subsequently. Still has a bit to find on form, though is open to further improvement following 7 weeks off.
Red Primrose (IRE)
Looked in need of the experience when 2¾ lengths third of 8 on debut here (5f) in late-June. Off since but that form is proving strong and she'll improve stepping up to 6f. Has to be on the shortlist.
Sadie Rose (IRE)
Cheap purchase who went with little encouragement in hood/tongue strap on debut at Dundalk (150/1).
Sorrento Sunset (IRE)
Foaled April 6. Dubawi Legend filly. Half-sister to useful 5f-6.5f winner Sorrento Sky. Dam unraced. Probably faces a tall order first time up, for all she makes some pedigree appeal.
Stormy Dawn (IRE)
Well beaten at long odds on both starts.
Timeless Tale (IRE)
Foaled February 14. Sioux Nation filly. Half-sister to useful winner up to 8.5f Wakanaka (2-y-o 5f/6f winner, by Power). Dam 5f winner. Market usually guides when stable fancies one.
Zelente (IRE)
Foaled April 16. Mehmas filly. Dam, 2-y-o 6f winner who stayed 1m, half-sister to winner up to 7f Dancing Star and 7f winner Dance In The Storm (both smart). Some appeal on paper but yard isn't a frequent source of debut winners.
