BUCKLAND BELLE has a much more solid record than the rest of these and could be good for a second C&D success of the year. Andrew Balding's excellent form earns Berkshire Boom the vote for the forecast spot.

Timeform Comments

Ecclefechan
Remains a maiden. Respectable third of 6 in handicap at Musselburgh (5f, good to firm, 33/1) 17 days ago. Significantly back up in trip (has form at 7f).
Berkshire Boom (IRE)
Won 7f Chester maiden last summer. Has yet to build on that success in handicap company this season but his mark has a come down a long way and the stable's excellent form means a prominent showing would come as no surprise.
Sup Of Red (IRE)
Fair maiden who hit the frame in maiden/handicap company on turf in Ireland. Runner-up on all-weather for this yard at the start of the year and may have needed a recent Chepstow outing after a 3-month break.
Buckland Belle
Consistent in handicaps, opening her account over C&D (good to firm) in May and doubling her tally at Leicester (1m, good to firm) under Tom Marquand in July. Creditable third of 6 in handicap at Brighton (1¼m, good) 19 days ago. Leading claims.
Torbados
11/1, good second of 10 over C&D (good to firm) 14 days ago. Claims if in similar form but that is no guarantee given his patchy record.
Who Is Alice
Chepstow maiden winner for Jack Channon last year but has drawn a blank in 9 subsequent handicap starts. It remains to be seen whether the step up to 1m helps matters. Also hooded first time.
