A tricky finale that could go the way of interesting stable-switcher NAUTICAL SKY. Mister Sandman makes appeal stepping back up to 7f, along with Kondratiev Wave, who drops into a 0-55 with Billy Loughnane back on board.

Timeform Comments

Kondratiev Wave (IRE)
C&D winner gained reward for his consistency when dead-heating at Lingfield (7f) in February. Every bit as good on turf with runner-up finishes at Bath/Windsor since. Now drops into a 0-55 following a lesser effort here last time, and the booking of Billy Loughnane suggests he may well bounce back.
Berning Hot (IRE)
Attracted support when running a bit better than the 11½ lengths beaten distance might suggest here last time. Now 4 lb lower than last summer's winning C&D mark.
Thanks Dad
Bounced back to form when scoring by 1¼ lengths on first start in classified company at Yarmouth (6f) latest. He was vulnerable off this sort of mark in turf handicaps last year, though.
Mister Sandman
Maiden who placed off higher marks than this last autumn/winter. Shade rusty returning from 9 weeks off when 3½ lengths behind Thanks Dad (6f) at Yarmouth latest. May benefit from step back up to 7f here (more settled in a hood this season) and looks one of the more interesting contenders.
Superstorm
Bounced back to his best when belatedly off the mark in a 3-y-o C&D handicap last time, capitalising on a career-low mark. Should at least be competitive back against his elders off 2 lb higher.
Barry The Worm
Landed a Wolverhampton nursery in first-time cheekpieces last November. Hasn't fired in 4 starts since returning from a break. Hopes pinned on more severe headgear sparking a revival.
Neat And Tidy
Low-mileage 3-y-o. Backed at long odds/not seen to best effect (going well when shuffled back on the home turn) on stable debut at Wolverhampton last month. Step to 1m failed to have the desired effect at Windsor (33/1) subsequently. Considered if the market speaks in her favour.
Girls Allowed (IRE)
Ran her best race to go close in a 7f classified event at Yarmouth last time. More needed back in handicap company but she's lightly raced and may benefit from the addition of cheekpieces.
Nautical Sky
Lightly-raced 3-y-o whose best effort came when runner-up on handicap debut at Wolverhampton (8.5f) in March. Didn't build on that in a couple of subsequent starts for James Ferguson, but she's joined a yard that excels with new recruits. Looks interesting with first-time cheekpieces added.
