The 3-y-os make the most appeal with HOVE RANGER taken to defy his penalty having won with more in hand than the margin suggests over C&D last week. Time To Sparkle and Thunder Goddess are others to consider.

Timeform Comments

Jimmy Mark (IRE)
Ran up to best when second at Bath last month but shaped as if amiss 3 weeks ago. Type to bounce back fitted with a first-time tongue strap.
Backer Bilk
Largely consistent on the all-weather last year but mixed record over hurdles this summer, running poorly starting out for this yard 2 weeks ago. Probably best watched back in this sphere.
Hove Ranger (FR)
Resumed winning ways returned to all-weather back from a short break over C&D last week, a trademark Lingfield burst getting him there just in time and probably underselling his superiority. Remains unexposed at this trip and can go well again with promising apprentice off-setting a penalty.
Havana Tobouggaloo
Maiden who went very close when runner-up at Bath on return. Hasn't fully reproduced that form since but she has dipped to a career-low mark.
Minerality
Well held on all 4 starts so far, including on handicap bow last time. Headgear now applied.
Thunder Goddess
Has plenty of stamina in her pedigree and best effort in qualifying runs when fifth at Windsor (1m) 2 weeks ago after 5 months off, steady headway late on and not unduly punished. Likely improver on handicap bow.
Time To Sparkle
Narrow winner at Wolverhampton in March and is proving consistent over this distance, placed again at Windsor latest. Looks more than capable of being in the mix taking on some older rivals for the first time with a good-value claimer taking over.
Sovereign Bright
Continues to tumble in the weights without showing any sign of taking advantage, failing to settle fitted with a hood last time.
