Timeform View

Quite an interesting fillies' handicap. APHRODITE SPIRIT was a cosy winner of her previous all-weather start and might be worth chancing with the Roger Teal stable in better form now than when she was last seen in mid-summer. Unexposed 3-y-os Ladykirk, Bint Kilfrush and Bintknight rate probable dangers.

Timeform Comments

Gloryous (IRE)
Completed a turf double over 1¼m last summer. Better than ever when second of 7 at Salisbury (1½m, good) 13 days ago. Same mark today.
Aphrodite Spirit
Cosily off the mark in 5-runner novice at Lingfield (1¼m) last September, her only start on all-weather. Third in handicaps at Newbury over 1¼m and 13f in June/July. Interesting back on polytrack with the Roger Teal stable among the winners.
Ladykirk (IRE)
Progressive form, looking suited by the step up in trip when length second in C&D novice 14 days ago. Potential improver on handicap debut under William Buick.
Bint Kilfrush
€550,000 Sea The Stars filly who made a winning debut in a Southwell novice (1m) on New Year's Day. Matched rather than improved on that form in a novice and handicap over 1¼m on turf in the spring but retains unexposed potential now returning to all-weather after a break.
Big Bear Hug
Built on earlier promise to land 11f handicap here in July but not in the same form in 2 subsequent outings at Lingfield. Bounce back needed.
Bintknight
Took her record to 2-4 when seeing off 4 rivals in handicap at Lingfield (1¼m, good to firm) 25 days ago. Only 2 lb higher and there could easily be more to come, particularly at this trip.
Affection (FR)
Four wins at up to 1½m in France, the latest in a claimer at Salon-de-Provence in April. Ran well on stable debut when third of 7 in handicap at Salisbury (1¼m) in June but beaten 8 lengths when fourth at Nottingham last time.
Seacole (IRE)
400,000 gns Sea The Stars filly who has shown fair form in maiden/novice events on turf this summer. Tough to argue an opening mark of 77 looks generous but brings obvious unexposed potential to this handicap debut.
