Timeform View

PRIMAL caught the eye switched to a nursery when a fast-finishing fourth at Glorious Goodwood and can build on that effort to open his account. With his yard in fine form, he can see off the challenge of Mobadir who arrives on the back of a successful nursery debut, with Sovereigns High completing the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Magi Melchior
Encouraging fourth in 10-runner novice at this course (6f) on debut, form boosted since. Hasn't gone on from that effort in 2 subsequent outings, well held in maiden at Goodwood (7f) 25 days ago, but he could fare better back here on nursery bow.
Primal
Showed fair form in his qualifying runs, before finishing strongly from a poor position when fourth of 18 on nursery debut at Goodwood last time. Drops in grade and he's major player with yard enjoying a terrific spell.
Sovereigns High (IRE)
Has shown promise in a trio of starts over 6f, keeping on for third in 5-runner maiden at Chester early in the month. In good hands and there's better still to come as he goes up in trip for nursery debut.
Regal Tiger
Has progressed with each start so far, making a quick switch to nurseries when ½-length second of 6 at Windsor (6f) last month. The winner from last time has scored again since, so he's not dismissed lightly with more to offer up in trip.
Mino
Has left his debut form well behind in 2 starts since, bumping into a smart prospect when second of 6 in novice at Yarmouth 12 days ago, clear of the rest. Could be in the mix now into a nursery for the first time.
Mobadir (IRE)
On the back of a gelding operation, justified strong support on nursery debut when winning 7-runner contest at Nottingham (6f) 23 days ago. Showed a good attitude last time and he's respected with this extra 1f promising to suit.
El Lambo (IRE)
Much improved when making his third start a winning one in maiden at Bath (5.7f) in May. However, has gone backwards from that run in 3 outings since, failing to beat a rival in 6f nurseries at Windsor the last twice.
Foscarini (IRE)
Took a step forward on his third run when second of 5 in novice at Brighton 20 days ago, his keenness just taking its toll late on. Could be able to build on latest effort as he makes the switch to a nursery.
Star Bayside Boy (IRE)
In need of the experience on debut for Richard Hughes and showed the benefit of that run for new yard when winning 6-runner novice at Windsor (6f) 23 days ago, knuckling down well. Open to further progress up to 7f on nursery bow.
Lilywhite Hart
Has offered something to work on in 6f maidens, fifth of 10 at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago on latest outing. Has work to do in this contest, though, as she makes her first start in a nursery.
Golden Oasis
Has been learning by the run, sticking to her task well when making all in 7-runner maiden at Chepstow 7 weeks ago by 2½ lengths from Lushill. Will need to find more again as she heads into nursery company.
Global Success (IRE)
Has run to a fair level in 6 races so far, narrowly denied by a more lightly-raced type when second in 9-runner maiden at Chepstow (6f) 17 days ago. Step forward required making her second nursery start, though has shaped as if 7f should suit.
Dissenter (IRE)
Built on debut promise when winning 6f maiden Chepstow in July. Wasn't able to improve any further, though, when 3¾ lengths fifth of 7 to Mobadir in nursery at Nottingham last time. Needs to get back on the up over this longer trip.
Lushill (IRE)
Placed on 3 of her first 4 starts, but switched to a nursery she was well held when eighth of 9 at Kempton (1m) 16 days ago, albeit not helped by a wide trip. Others preferred.
Its A Ginger Thing (IRE)
Hasn't made much impact in 4 starts to date, though shaped as if needing the emphasis more on stamina when seventh of 10 on nursery debut at Kempton (6f) 3 weeks ago. This run should reveal more up in distance.
