Timeform View

LEADLIGHT holds some Group entries for later in the season and should make it third time lucky with sights lowered. Ger Lyons opts for another crack at a maiden with This That, who looks most interesting of the remainder.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Equus Victor could be expected to race prominently. Of those in the front half of the betting forecast, Jezzie Bea might be well positioned in a slowly run affair: Of the better-fancied horses, Leadlight is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Equus Victor (IRE)
90,000 gns son of Blackbeard. Positively ridden over a longer trip when 5½ lengths fourth of 13 at Dundalk (1m) on return/second career start. May pick up some place money if building on that.
Jezzie Bea (USA)
Step forward from her debut when 3¾ lengths fourth of 12 (third a next-time-out winner) at Leopardstown last month. In the right hands to keep progressing, though may be vulnerable off level weights with a couple of better-bred colts here.
Leadlight (IRE)
Did all his best work late when 1½ lengths fourth in fairly useful race on debut at Leopardstown. Drawn poorly when beaten 5 lengths in valuable Glorious Goodwood maiden (7f) since. Step up in trip/addition of cheekpieces should suit and we haven't seen the best of him yet (holds Group 1 entry).
This That
Only beaten 2¾ lengths in a big-field maiden at the Curragh (6f) on qualifying run. Interesting that very capable yard opt for another crack at maiden company. Player if he stays this significantly longer trip (bred to be sharp).
Summer Sent You (IRE)
Showed more than first time up (despite again not being given a hard time) when beaten 7½ lengths in Leopardstown maiden (7f, 50/1). Another relatively quick turnaround here, and she's probably a handicap project.
Ferronniere (IRE)
Foaled May 1. €25,000 yearling, Ten Sovereigns gelding. Half-brother to winner up to 11f Farnesio. Dam maiden sister to smart 1m-1¼m winner Uae Jewel out of useful 2-y-o 7f/1m winner (stayed 1½m) Gemstone. Type to do better down the line.
Mickian Thomas (IRE)
Not an obvious type on paper and went with little promise on debut at the Curragh (6f). Now upped in trip.
