GORE POINT took a big step forward in form terms when completing the 4-timer over C&D last week and with the ceiling of his ability yet to be ascertained, Anthony Honeyball's 6-y-o is fancied to take all the beating under a penalty. Obsessedwithyou has 5 wins & 5 placed efforts from her last 10 starts so she heads up the opposition, with recent Market Rasen-scorer Gower Prince seemingly best of the rest.

Timeform Comments

Breaking Cover (IRE)
Successful 5 times last year (3 here). Fine second in Grade 2 Rising Stars Chase at Wincanton before facing a tall order in Arkle trial at Cheltenham. Showed benefit of Uttoxeter return when fourth at Stratford (17f) last month but the jury remains out on his jumping. Yard also run Gore Point.
Centara (IRE)
Bold-jumping front runner who made hay over fences last summer, with 4 of his 5 wins coming over C&D (including this race). Had another breathing operation prior to reappearance but has been comfortably beaten the last 3 starts (change of tactics latest). Remains best watched for now.
Obsessedwithyou (FR)
Consistent mare won 4 handicap chases last season and made her first hurdles start since October 2024 a winning one at Hexham in June. Ran another solid race when runner-up at Stratford (2m) the following month and remains of interest back chasing (5 wins & 5 placed efforts from last 10 starts).
Gore Point
Consistent sort who comes here operating firmly at the top of his game, bringing up the 4-timer in emphatic fashion over C&D 5 days ago, travelling well despite a couple of iffy leaps. Took a big step forward in form terms last time so should take all the beating under a penalty.
Ice In The Veins (IRE)
Won a pair of small-field novice hurdles in November. Struggled in handicaps for Dan Skelton after but took a step back in the right direction for new yard when second at Uttoxeter in June. Stiff task from out the weights at Stratford later that month (went off too hard) and absent since.
Gower Prince
Not the easiest to catch right but proved at least as good as ever after a 3-month break when winning 8-runner event at Market Rasen (17f, good to firm) just under a fortnight ago. However, he rarely holds form for long and could face competition for lead this time. Opposable on balance.
