THUNDER HOME is taken to gain compensation for his unfortunate near-miss over C&D last month. Cilician is a solid yardstick in this sort of event and should be thereabouts. Algaihabane and Nethersteam appeal as likely improvers, with John & Thady Gosden's Group 2-entered colt particularly feared.

From a useful family and holds Group 2 Royal Lodge entry. Sent off favourite but looked in need of the experience when beaten 12½ lengths on debut at Kempton (7f). In excellent hands and he is fancied to leave that form well behind.
Beloved Country
Foaled March 4. Camelot colt. Brother to 8.3f winner Soul Dance and half-brother to useful winner up to 1m Just Call Me Angel. Dam, 7.6f-1¼m winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 1¼m Sparkling Beam. Yard isn't a prolific source of debut winners.
Cilician (IRE)
Stepped forward from debut when only beaten 4¼ lengths in Coventry at Royal Ascot. Runner-up in a couple of 7f novices at Sandown/Newbury without scaling those same heights. Rather keen in first-time cheekpieces (now removed) on nursery bow at Goodwood, and he can do better in maiden company here.
Diamondise (IRE)
Made little appeal on paper and went with no promise on debut (50/1) at Newbury.
El Paso (GER)
Yard tends to take a patient approach with their juveniles, and this one duly shaped like a longer-term project on debut at Ffos Las (6f, good to firm).
Keegan
Foaled February 24. Eqtidaar gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including 6f winner Jesse Luc and 9.5f-13f winner Must Be Amazing. Dam, maiden (stayed 7f), half-sister to very smart/unreliable winner up to 1m Asset. Probably vulnerable to better-calibre rivals here.
Netherstream
€100,000 Pinatubo colt. Has plenty about him physically and looks sure to improve on his promising 5¼ lengths third at Newmarket (7f). That's usually a strong race, and he's high on the shortlist with Oisin Murphy booked.
New Oxford (IRE)
€160,000 New Bay colt. Made an encouraging start to his career when 3¾ lengths fourth of 9 over C&D, getting the hang of things late behind the more experienced Thunder Home. Reopposes that rival on same terms here, though he's expected to improve with a run under his belt.
Old Oak (IRE)
Stepped forward from his debut when 7¼ lengths fourth of 13 at Ripon (1m), doing best of those held up. May find longer trips/handicaps more his bag.
Palace Legacy
Green/found penny dropping late when 1¾ lengths third to a couple of more experienced rivals (runner-up won since) at Epsom on debut (7f). Will improve for that, for all his pedigree suggests he'll come into his own over middle distances.
Thunder Home (IRE)
Progressive Night of Thunder colt. Aided by the run of the race when an unlucky loser in C&D maiden last month, in control when eased by rider and headed post. That's historically been a strong race and he's effectively a 'winner' running without a penalty here. Leading claims.
