Timeform View

There's a lack of obvious pace but that may be no bad thing for CRACKERGEE who can quickly resume winning ways. Last-time-out winners Robusto and Flightofthephoenix may prove the biggest dangers, in that order.

Timeform Comments

Hibernate (IRE)
A 3-time winner in small-field races, the latest at Bath in May. Quickly back on track when short-head second at Yarmouth in July before finding a 4-runner handicap at Catterick too competitive later that same month. Returns to a more suitable grade here.
Crackergee
Capitalised on a reduced mark when gaining a first win at the twelfth attempt in 6-runner handicap over C&D in June. 9/2, creditable fifth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (13f, AW) following month. His slow starts are an issue but he remains of interest, particularly if the rain arrives.
Robusto (IRE)
Bounced back to winning ways at Wolverhampton in May and capitalised on a lower turf mark at Leicester (1½m, good to firm) 19 days ago. The runner-up hasn't advertised that form since but he should remain competitive after a 4 lb rise in the weights.
Raintown (IRE)
Has seen some tardy starts creeping in lately but there's no knocking his last 4 starts at Newbury, getting off the mark for the season in July before finding a progressive 3-y-o too good 2 weeks ago. Remains well treated from this mark.
Flightofthephoenix (IRE)
Finally got off the mark from a reduced mark in 10-runner handicap at Kempton (11f) 18 days ago by head from Hot Silk. Not one to dismiss out of hand back on turf after a 3 lb rise.
King's Castle (IRE)
Course winner last summer and has run some good races in defeat this season, finishing 1½ lengths third of 6 to Educator at Newmarket 22 days ago. The handicapper has relented slightly on the back of that.
Luan (FR)
Proved a different proposition winning back-to-back handicaps on the tapeta at Newcastle and Wolverhampton in June/July for James Ferguson. Below form on stable debut when down the field at Southwell earlier this month. Has to prove his effectiveness on turf.
Shaffron
Shaped with more encouragement than on return when length third of 6 to Stage Show at Salisbury in May. Not seen since and does need improvement to feature.
